YoloinOhio Posted January 16, 2017 Author Posted January 16, 2017 This sounds like a David Caldwell move, not Coughlin. Smart guy. This will be a good hire for them. Marrone will wear out his welcome within two years and Chip Kelly will take over.Coaches report to Coughlin, not Caldwell.
Dr. Fong Posted January 16, 2017 Posted January 16, 2017 I'm surprised Kelly didn't just go back to coaching college.
NoSaint Posted January 16, 2017 Posted January 16, 2017 @conororr Marrone's offenses at Syracuse eventually took on a lot of what Kelly was doing at Oregon. Not as strange a pairing as one might think. hackett definitely wanted some of the concepts.
Best Player Available Posted January 16, 2017 Posted January 16, 2017 @adamcaplanNFL Chip turned down job on Coughlin's staff with #Giants prior to taking job at Oregon. Kelly also consulted for the hoody** at least one summer before he coached the eagles. Â Analytics.
PromoTheRobot Posted January 16, 2017 Posted January 16, 2017 How ironic considering Chip and St. Doug both entered the NFL as head coaches in the same year.
Malazan Posted January 16, 2017 Posted January 16, 2017 How ironic considering Chip and St. Doug both entered the NFL as head coaches in the same year. ..and both f*cked over the teams that hired them...and both led miserable offenses despite being offensive minds...
GunnerBill Posted January 17, 2017 Posted January 17, 2017 Marrone, a former OC, isn't going to run his own offense? Â This could be very smart. I never got the impression that Marrone was a brilliant Xs and Os guy. He isn't Marrone is a leader not a whiteboard coach. Oh and this shows where Chip's stock is but his ego just won't let him leave the NFL alone. Â Crashing and burning.
YoloinOhio Posted January 17, 2017 Author Posted January 17, 2017 Back with Marrone  @rapsheet As the #Jaguars wait for an OC, they have hired Tyrone Wheatley as the team's running backs coach.
Malazan Posted January 17, 2017 Posted January 17, 2017 I really, really want this to happen. Coughlin, Marrone, and Kelly would be incredibly entertaining.
jaybee Posted January 17, 2017 Posted January 17, 2017 @conororr Marrone's offenses at Syracuse eventually took on a lot of what Kelly was doing at Oregon. Not as strange a pairing as one might think. If I am a Jags fan I am loving this development.
ndirish1978 Posted January 17, 2017 Posted January 17, 2017 we can make fun of this, but in all seriousness Kelly is probably a million times better than anyone we're considering for the same position
Jauronimo Posted January 17, 2017 Posted January 17, 2017 If I am a Jags fan I am loving this development. The tarp approves!
26CornerBlitz Posted January 17, 2017 Posted January 17, 2017 @AllbrightNFL Was told that after interviewing Chip Kelly, interim OC Nathaniel Hackett is still the favorite for the #Jaguars OC position.
dave mcbride Posted January 17, 2017 Posted January 17, 2017 we can make fun of this, but in all seriousness Kelly is probably a million times better than anyone we're considering for the same position I actually agree pretty strongly with you on this.
jeffismagic Posted January 17, 2017 Posted January 17, 2017 Looks like Coughlin is the real coach and Marrone is his annoying puppet.
QB Bills Posted January 17, 2017 Posted January 17, 2017 we can make fun of this, but in all seriousness Kelly is probably a million times better than anyone we're considering for the same positionBeen saying it since he got canned in SF. The guy knows offense. He's easily the best candidate out there. I'd love it if the Bills made him OC.
GunnerBill Posted January 17, 2017 Posted January 17, 2017 I really dislike Kelly... and yet faced with the Greg Oslon option I am more inclined to say maybe
CommonCents Posted January 17, 2017 Posted January 17, 2017 I really dislike Kelly... and yet faced with the Greg Oslon option I am more inclined to say maybe Fair. Kelly would be a danger to the new coach though and I don't want that. I want him to get a chance at this.
