Pbomb Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 I think olson was only gonna be the qb coach, or oc only if our other 2-3 options fall through as a backup plan
DrDawkinstein Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 Not bad news, but did we really get passed on for a QB coaching job? That would be twice (Musgrave).
FireChan Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 (edited) That would be twice (Musgrave). Ugh. May say something about the league-wide opinion of or O. Edited January 18, 2017 by FireChan
Doc Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 Ugh. May say something about the league-wide opinion of or O. Because the Rams' O is so great.
Kelly the Dog Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 Please lock this thread. Next!I'm not saying Childress is necessarily the guy, but I believe that the only reference to Childress being out is one Vic tweet that said after Olsen was scheduled to be interviewed that it "appears" that Childress is out. All other tweets seem to reference that one, not any kind of real reporting. So I wouldn't at all rule Childress out until further confirmation.
Andrew Son Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 Ugh. May say something about the league-wide opinion of or O. I missed the details of the offers that we made.. Boy, we are lucky to have so many expert tea leaf readers
eball Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 We dodged a bullet. A "YUUUUGE" bullet. I believe McD's target is still coaching this weekend.
FireChan Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 Because the Rams' O is so great. They have a QB with enough potential to go #1 overall. But you're right, their offense isn't great. What does that say about ours?

H2o Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 (edited) Thank the Lord we did not hire Olsen On a side note, I almost feel sorry for LA and Jared Goff. Edited January 18, 2017 by H2o

JoeF Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 I know we all have a tendency to think the most negative here (we are Bills fans after all) ...but I honestly think the Bills OC job is pretty damn attractive...the Bills have weapons (Clay, Shady, Sammy, Dizzy), an established O-line under contract, a serviceable QB option or the ability to impact who they go after....not bad..
Peter Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 Should I be happy that we dodged a bullet or sad that a guy who most think would be a horrible OC would rather be the Rams QB coach than the OC of the Buffalo Bills? I am going to choose to be happy that we dodged a bullet.
Dr. Who Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 So if our list was 1.McCoy 2.Childress 3.Olson who is next? Brian Daboll Tom Clements

Doc Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 They have a QB with enough potential to go #1 overall. But you're right, their offense isn't great. What does that say about ours? I agree with others who say that the OC is probably still coaching in the playoffs and that Olson was being considered for quarterback coach. So in that case I would agree with what you said in your first sentence.

There's certainly nothing on the team website about even an interview -- that was all speculation from reporters.
DrDawkinstein Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 Thank the Lord we did not hire Olsen On a side note, I almost feel sorry for LA and Jared Goff. For as bad as Olson is, he seems light years ahead of that turd Chris Weinke.
