Deadstroke Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 (edited) Just want to say that sometimes due to circumstances it may take a while for a receiver to take off. Consider the following stats from Mould's career, paying special attention to the first couple of years, then look at Sammy, taking into consideration his 3rd year injury. Sure, I know things were a bit different back then, but make the comparison. Big Turk Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 Don't even need to go that far back...just look at my Julio Jones thread and compare their first 3 years... same injury, same type of talent...
Magox Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 It did take Moulds a while to get going. Sammy's issues have been more injury related than anything.
Gray Beard Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 When Sammy is not too injured to play, he gets open. For some reason, he is not targeted very often. He has expressed dissatisfaction about that. His numbers could be better. Not trying to bash TT, it just seems like those two haven't developed a chemistry. Perhaps it's because Sammy has been injured just often enough to prevent the chemistry from developing.
Marty McFly Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 Don't even need to go that far back...just look at my Julio Jones thread and compare their first 3 years... same injury, same type of talent... Agree. Watkins will be good when he's healthy enough. What bothers me is his contract is almost up and theres no guarantees hes gonna stay here. Hopefully we draft a new WR this year.
pepsicat17 Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 Sammys issues have been injury and QB related as well.
BarleyNY Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 Don't even need to go that far back...just look at my Julio Jones thread and compare their first 3 years... same injury, same type of talent... This is what we're all hoping for, but my biggest fear is that Watkins has injury problems through the next two seasons (through his option season), moves on to another team and then finally stays healthy and tears it up. I could live with him busting, but watching him light it up in Miami/NY/NE would be particularly tough to take.

Sammy said he wants to be a Bill forever, it was his favorite team gowing up, he wants to be here
Marty McFly Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 Sammy said he wants to be a Bill forever, it was his favorite team gowing up, he wants to be here I didnt know that. Thats cool.
klos63 Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 Sammy said he wants to be a Bill forever, it was his favorite team gowing up, he wants to be here I wouldn't pin my hopes on that. He's going to want to win somewhere and have a strong QB.
