What a Tuel Posted January 19, 2017 Posted January 19, 2017 Media: * Anthony Lynn a lock to be next Bills RGM. * Bills situation toxic. HC candidates staying away from Buffalo. * Childress to be new OC. * Childress out. Greg Olsen new favorite to be Bills OC. * Olsen out. Reality: * The media is nearly always wrong. sounds pretty "dysfunctional".
The Jokeman Posted January 19, 2017 Posted January 19, 2017 Brian Daboll and Alex Van Pelt are good candidatesDaboll? He's been an OC 3x already and can't say his offenses in Cleveland, Miami or KC were memorable.
Baba Booey Posted January 19, 2017 Posted January 19, 2017 Jason LaConfora just sent out that the Bills "may be inclined" to pursue Green Bay QB coach Alex Van Pelt.
K D Posted January 19, 2017 Posted January 19, 2017 Have a Madden tournament. Winner gets play calling duties. Jason LaConfora just sent out that the Bills "may be inclined" to pursue Green Bay QB coach Alex Van Pelt. That was like 2 hours ago so if it's coming from LaConfora then it's probably already been debunked by now
D. L. Hot-Flamethrower Posted January 19, 2017 Posted January 19, 2017 Daboll? He's been an OC 3x already and can't say his offenses in Cleveland, Miami or KC were memorable. You do realize he's been in NE for awhile and has the Hoodie seal of approval. That's good enough for me.
hondo in seattle Posted January 19, 2017 Posted January 19, 2017 (edited) True. I feel like there is all this speculation about what they're planning on doing and the truth of the matter is they've been waiting on the same guy all along. My suspicion as well. McD has been hiring position coaches for the offense. I'm guessing he's doing it with the blessings of our future unnamed OC. And I suspect the offensive position coaches are coming aboard because they know who the OC will be. Edited January 19, 2017 by hondo in seattle

Thanks for making me feel a little better. That all makes sense , of course. So.......who is it???? Then I can rest.
Terry Tate Posted January 19, 2017 Posted January 19, 2017 Daboll? He's been an OC 3x already and can't say his offenses in Cleveland, Miami or KC were memorable. According to Wiki, Brian Daboll started his coaching career as an assistant at William & Mary in 1997, the same time McDermott was a player there. Not that it means anything, just interesting. Another interesting note (to me anyway) - he ls a St Francis HS (Athol Springs) Alum. I don't advocate anyone, I just started looking through playoff team offense staffs for any connections to coach McD and saw this.
26CornerBlitz Posted January 19, 2017 Posted January 19, 2017 @ByRyanWood #Packers QB Aaron Rodgers on Alex Van Pelt: "There's no reason his name shouldn't be out there for coordinator jobs right now."
Wayne Arnold Posted January 19, 2017 Author Posted January 19, 2017 Joe PersonVerified account@josephperson Sean McDermott interviewed Panthers QBs coach Ken Dorsey today for Bills OC job.

26CornerBlitz Posted January 19, 2017 Posted January 19, 2017 (edited) Man we had some terrible terrible players in 2009 Yep. They really were a lousy football team in terms of overall talent. Edited January 19, 2017 by 26CornerBlitz
DCBongo Posted January 19, 2017 Posted January 19, 2017 if qualified, it would be fun to get Pillsbury back!

The reality is most of the news is coming from agents and the Bills are playing things close to the vest for once.
sven233 Posted January 19, 2017 Posted January 19, 2017 Joe PersonVerified account@josephperson Sean McDermott interviewed Panthers QBs coach Ken Dorsey today for Bills OC job. Yeah.....saw this. Surprised it hasn't gotten more buzz. I'd be OK with this. Better than giving Olsen the job. Sure, he hasn't done it before, but that doesn't have to mean he wouldn't be any good.
26CornerBlitz Posted January 19, 2017 Posted January 19, 2017 FWIW. @viccarucci Doesn't appear to be any substance to #Bills' reported interest in Alex Van Pelt for OC job.
aristocrat Posted January 19, 2017 Posted January 19, 2017 dorsey was the guy i called as soon as mcd was hired. i've heard some good things on him down here.
ALF Posted January 19, 2017 Posted January 19, 2017 Make Peyton Manning a offer he can't refuse. If anyone can call plays and mentor a QB it's him.
machine gun kelly Posted January 19, 2017 Posted January 19, 2017 The are only two logical reasons we don't be an OC. First, he is part of one of the staff for the finL four playoff teams, or there is such a toxic air of Buffalo, people don't want to come here. I believe the former, not the latter.
