"That's none of your business" is a real answer. And frankly, one we all (fans and media) needed reiterated.

I agree, and an excellent point (if a little blunt), but some people just think they deserve much more than they actually do.

My interpretation is that individually, and collectively, the Pegulas genuinely don't care for the press, aren't comfortable in front of the camera, and yet have a great desire to be liked and seen as the good guys. Those two things are very hard to simultaneously pull off.

good post.

Verbally, he pretty much did, a few times.

How do you think Doug Whaley represented the Bills at his news conference last week?

TP: He did the best he could under some very trying circumstances. That's my answer.

What were the circumstances?

TP: You saw it.

(Translation: You reporters and how you behaved, you are the very trying circumstances)

Others have had your confidence but lost it, namely Ted Black, Darcy Regier and Pat LaFontaine. How did those relationships turn sour?

TP: I think those are all personal matters I don't need to discuss.

Two years ago, you considered bringing Bill Polian aboard as a football consultant ...

TP: I don't want to discuss that. It's a private matter.

OK. But why haven't you followed through with anyone else in that type of role?

TP: We don't have any plans to do that. We just don't choose to go down that road. (...) Don't chase a story that doesn't exist. There's no plan to do it.

What went wrong with Rex Ryan as your coach?

KP: It doesn't do us any good to get into that. We've got a new coach, and we want to look forward.

It never ceases to amaze me that people are OK with (and indeed laud) powerful people agreeing to interviews and then refusing to answer pretty basic questions that fans are interested in.

I don't get it either, but PTR and the Rear Guard have silenced me.

did u read the article? I thought both sides well and it should put alot of questions to bed, unless the media can't put their pitchforks down.

i dont think it matters

ppl in general are not rational. doesnt really matter what you say, they will often hear something completely different and project their own bias into it, making it something completely counter to what you say

we see this problem in epidemic proportions in any kind of emotional discussion. consider a very difficult and emotional topic like american race issues. probably 10% of what someone actually says is retained, the other 90% is pure projection, making the initial commentary almost worthless

just imagine how much worse things are in something highly emotional and completely unimportant like pro sports. you have literally close to zero chance making a statement that doesnt get twisted all to hell and having nothing to do with your original premise

terry pegula could say something like 'we want to leverage all our knowledge and work as a team to come to a decision', and the media will portray it as 'the bills are locked into a dysfunctional group think mentality where nobody is making final decisions and everyone has to agree before even routine moves can be made'

so again, ppl will see what they want to see. and since most ppl are miserable petty wretches, thats what the media feeds us bc it gets the most clicks. i suggest reading media reports with an abundance of this is probably bull **** caution

"That's none of your business" is a real answer. And frankly, one we all (fans and media) needed reiterated.

if i owned the bills and had sat through what this media has done the past couple seasons i would have been seriously tempted to just tell all local reporters to go !@#$ themselves

Or they could find a smarter GM.

But anyway, I'll not be "argumentative"------If you prefer to say he was instead blatantly lying (because he "didn't want to deal with the press") with his answers, that's not dysfunctional??--when he just announced to the assembled press that he was there to speak as one on behalf of ownership? He would lie about what he knew and embarrass his owner, just because he doesn't like public speaking?

Yeah, that makes sense.

i love how nobody takes you seriously any more

Terry Pegula, you are hardly a man and disgust me. You own 2 major pro sports teams and have the final say in all major decisions. You seem to be highly involved, hands on owners. At least be man enough to step up to the plate and give the fans who pay you and you're ****ty teams some insight/answers into what the hell is going on and why decisions have been made the way they have. Be accountable. Are you that senile into how you are being perceived in the media or just a entitled dick bag who can't take being criticized? Continue to hide in Florida while pulling the strings from a far and making yourself available for one handpicked interview per year where you do not discuss or answer anything when you're the one making final decisions. You cannot have it both ways Pegs.

We are in great hands folks. We have Terry "I will not discuss that" and Doug "I wasn't privy"

I will not be renewing my season tickets if this is how the owner carries himself. 20+ year holder

We deserve better as fans

hahah what a blowhard. BTW, Terry doesn't read this site so maybe u should write to the BN with that crap, they'll listen Edited by BaaadThingsMan

Posters here have even advocated that Pegula buy the BN so he could eliminate the unpleasant questions and control the message.

Kim Jung Un then posted "#howIroll" and "#duhnobrainer"

Maybe you could answer that simple post without your "I heart" message?

Otherwise, let the adults talk..

oh please, he provided plenty of answers where appropriate, and denied answering some questions that dealt with personal relationships and internal team strategies. what more do you want? should he just upload his diary so you can comb through it? get over it.

Yes, get over it!

How can anyone at this point question Pegula's ability and scheme for running a pro sports team in Buffalo?

If he says you don't need to know, then you don't need to know. Trust his process as his results speaks for themselves.

People shouldn't question any of this.

He was asked some pretty basic questions about the recent firing, the qb situation (which, by the way, is a huge national story), and a couple of other pretty basic things. "None of your business" is not the best answer given the business he's in. Look - the Bills are not DynCorp or BoozAllenHamilton. They are a genuinely public-oriented company that (sadly) carries the hopes of literally hundreds of thousands of Western New Yorkers. Not all private businesses are the same. Fans are the reason teams are popular, and their only conduit to press-loathing multi-billionaires like the Pegulas is, ironically, the press -- like it or not.

What difference does it make if you do? TG asked the questions, and he got answers. You may not like those answers, but tough nuts.

You are free to question the Pegulas abilities all you want. Let me know where that gets you and what change youre able to affect.

Or we'll all just follow you to Foxboro.

For my part I could care less if any of them "win" the press conferences and interviews

They could speak Mork from Orc for all I care.....just win

For my part, I actually got kind of sick of winning in front of the microphone, but that was a personal Rex peeve, I guess. He just seemed so proud of himself and at home there, this, while ugly at times, is almost refreshing. Edited by Augie

Why would you want him to make public ANY feelings on Tyrod when the matter isnt even resolved yet?

Why would you expect him to publicly throw Rex under the bus? The firing is proof enough he wanst happy with Rex's performance.
