Never NEVER Give-up Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 Video: http://buffalonews.com/2017/01/12/video-doug-marrone-not-pleased-asked-hed-leave-jaguars-like-bills/ Ouch! Love the question, caught him completely off guard . . . .
Ennjay Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 (edited) Hmmm . . . his first answer was that he's around people he loves being around. So . . . take that Pegulas, Whaley, Brandon? Is that what he's saying? And second answer was no such contract clause in Jax. So it was about the money? And now it isn't? Edited January 12, 2017 by Ennjay
dpberr Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 Again, a proper media guy or gal would have had Marrone prepared for that obvious question.
fridge Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 One, I don't know why I was expecting him to have a better grasp of the English language. One, I love that his reason was simply because obviously he staying here and is with people he loves.
Dorkington Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 Eh, no biggie. He didn't really like it here, and he had an out with free money, seems perfectly logical *shrugs*
BarleyNY Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 He's already eyeing his next move. He's a mercenary.
papazoid Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 he legally "opted out" of his bills contract in order to secure a longer, richer, better one.....he miscalculated. players in the NBA do this all the time. he paid his dues as a coordinator and gets another shot as HC what a great country....
TheFunPolice Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 (edited) Marrone doesn't make me mad, honestly. He had issues with the way the front office runs (hardly sounds unique) and took the option to leave after a 9-7 season rather than get fired the following December. In the end, a coach most here didn't like decided to leave. Isn't that good, then? He also didn't "stiff" Syracuse. Guys leave for the NFL all the time. It's a career promotion unless you're at Alabama or somewhere like that. Even then it's still a step up in the football world in my book. Edited January 12, 2017 by TheFunPolice
GRHater69 Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 The question is how much does Coughlin still miss being a coach. He could makes things uneasy for St. Doug and try to force him out over time, then take over on an interim basis. Remember Marv thought he could still coach the team after Meathead quit.
TheFunPolice Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 Marv 100% wanted to coach and when he was told no I think he lost a lot of his interest in being back here. He was bored as GM.
BrycePaup4ever Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 The look on Mr Khan's face at the end was amazing. http://buffalonews.com/2017/01/12/video-doug-marrone-not-pleased-asked-hed-leave-jaguars-like-bills/
Jerry Jabber Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 Glad someone asked him. The question took him by surprise at first.
BrycePaup4ever Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 True he stumbled through the whole answer.
ndirish1978 Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 I loved it. His answer was basically "I can't. I don't have that clause in my contract this time."
BrycePaup4ever Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 Ya he mumbled there... so he did say clause. Lol
PO16FFS Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 The look on Khans face is the same as always is: Dumbfounded with no football knowledge. By the way...Marrone, best coach BIlls have had in playoff drought
Malazan Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 Someone should have asked him if Coach Coughlin makes him run laps?
