Freddie's Dead Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 One of the things with which I disagreed with Rex was the handling of Carpenter in the 2015 season. I think Rex got into his head and Carpenter never was able to get over it. Kickers are like pitchers and goaltenders - head cases. From MONEY to MAYBE, and cost us any shot we had at the playoffs. Then he slunk away like a wuss.
Buffalo Barbarian Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 Pretty crazy for a HC not to be able to pick his own assistants. I wouldn't want that FN job with a guy blocking the staff I want to work with. well he did keep Hackett as his OC here so maybe they don't trust him with coaches.
bigK14094 Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 Yes. Please take Crossman. Actually, Crossman did a pretty good job here, once an adequate priority was placed on having good players on the ST. I would hope Crossman would stay.
Beef Jerky Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 Marrone is just a middle man until Tom get all of his pieces into place. Then they fire Marrone and Tom promotes his guy
bigK14094 Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 Is Marrone going to go get Rob Moore as wr coach?

jumbalaya Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 I think it's obvious that the Bills ST have pretty much sucked. Good bye Danny
eball Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 I think it's funny that the only HC job Marrone could land is one in which he has to ask daddy Coughlin for permission to do anything. Priceless.
4merper4mer Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 Thank GOD Couglin is there and not here. To Block a very good Football Coach (Donnie Henderson) because you dont like him Thank you football gods. Well if he's blocking Crossman too then he has a 50/50 record.
eball Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 Well if he's blocking Crossman too then he has a 50/50 record. Crossman almost sounds a lot like Coughlin, and has many of the same letters, so I don't think Tom would block that hire.
klos63 Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 ST coaches are just about useless. I'm convinced they cause more harm than good. Let Doug have him. Anybody could do the job. My hunch is Carp bounces back. Doubt there is a FA kicker that would be a better option and they don't have enough draft picks to spend on a kicker. ST coaches are almost all about specialty players. We had great coverage when Easley was healthy. When Carpenter was sharp and Schmidt kicked well, Crossman looked great. Obviously coaches contribute, but look at Bobby April, he's had some pretty horrible ST units recently.
26CornerBlitz Posted January 13, 2017 Author Posted January 13, 2017 (edited) Guess Grandpa Coughlin said no. @Jaguars #Jaguars name Joe DeCamillis special teams coordinator : http://jagrs.com/DeCam0113 Edited January 13, 2017 by 26CornerBlitz

High school teams (like the guy in Texas that never punts or kicks off deep) executed better onside kicks than the Bills.
ndirish1978 Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 What a great first question to ask Marrone. You can tell it caught him completely off guard. And at the same time, its what most people think of when his name is brought up (other than, 'Who is Doug Marrone?') He really should have a better answer prepared than just some red faced stuttering pile of crap. That 45 second clip really makes me not miss him at all. Rex was bad, but Doug was bad and an !@#$. Exactly. How did he NOT expect to be asked that question? I like how he acted offended.
Saxum Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 Pretty crazy for a HC not to be able to pick his own assistants. I wouldn't want that FN job with a guy blocking the staff I want to work with. No it is not; the front office should have final call but show restraint. I provide proof - the Dan Quayle of assistant coaches: Ronnie Jones.
26CornerBlitz Posted January 13, 2017 Author Posted January 13, 2017 No it is not; the front office should have final call but show restraint. I provide proof - the Dan Quayle of assistant coaches: Ronnie Jones. Completely disagree. No need to emasculate your Head Coach.
Saxum Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 Completely disagree. No need to emasculate your Head Coach. When a head coach wants to make a bad hire he can pay for it out of his own salary.
26CornerBlitz Posted January 13, 2017 Author Posted January 13, 2017 When a head coach wants to make a bad hire he can pay for it out of his own salary. Yeah Okay. Pure silliness. Either you trust a HC to make the call on who he wants to work with or you don't.
