26CornerBlitz Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 @TalesfromtheAFL 1960 #LAChargers game action. Note the empty stands. Will it be different this time? @SDUTKrasovic @sdutCanepa @clarkjudgeTOF #chargers
Helpmenow Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 Terrible news for one of the greatest cities in the world. Maybe. Has fantastic weather. I know lived out there Sad that a deal couldn't get done. The Padres who are a joke of franchise have petco park in the city. The chargers should be down there. How many times have the Padres changed owners many times. @TalesfromtheAFL 1960 #LAChargers game action. Note the empty stands. Will it be different this time? @SDUTKrasovic @sdutCanepa @clarkjudgeTOF #chargers Balboa park right off the 5 freeway
707BillsFan Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 they are going to be playing at stubhub center which only holds 27k until KronkeWorld is ready. At least they will sell out (maybe) I just read that....ugh. That's gotta suck for them. They couldn't swing the Rose Bowl? Tickets will may be hard to come by and may be at a premium. On a positive note, they did want to move to Carson...now they'll be there.
PatsFanNH Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 Makes me smile knowing the owner of my team wasn't a jackass like that. He threatened to move to RI if the state of Massachusetts did not improve the Infrastructure around the Razor but he paid for the stadium 100% on his own. Sad that is rare amongs all these BILLIONAIRES.
YoloinOhio Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 The team only put one stadium measure on the ballot in the last 15 years and it was kind of hastily thrown together and destined to fail. I initially thought it made sense to tax the tourists and not the residents but it is also true that with those types of taxes it will end up impacting residents down the line. Spanos family is worth 2.4 billion and needed to pony up the cash. Qualcomm is the crappiest stadium in the league too, they've made no improvements. I've seen nicer HS football stadiums.
Helpmenow Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 (edited) True. Also right next kinder Morgan fuel terminals doesn't help. There is a huge contaminated petroleum plume right under the parking lot Edited January 12, 2017 by Helpmenow
BuffaloRebound Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 As much as people dump on Buffalo, it probably turned out to be the 2nd most attractive job opening behind Denver.
papazoid Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 Report: Chargers may rebrand in L.A. Vincent Bonsignore of the Los Angeles Daily News reports that the Chargers are considering the adoption of a new name in L.A. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2017/01/12/report-chargers-may-rebrand-in-l-a/
jumbalaya Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 LA could not and still does not support the Rams. Stan could spend $10B on the stadium and it would not make a difference. Now LA can show that it won't support two teams any better than it didn't support one. Smooth move.
Mr. WEO Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 How is this "stunning" news. The death of the NFL in SD has been ongoing since at least the time Kroenke announced he was moving and the Chargers or the Raiders would be his tenants.
26CornerBlitz Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 @RossTuckerNFL NFL letting Chargers move to LA instead of new stadium in San Diego over $175M is short-sighted when considering long view for all involved.
Meathead Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 @TalesfromtheAFL Note the empty stands. dont look empty to me. i see two guys sitting up there for a jacksonville game thats almost a sellout
26CornerBlitz Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 @RapSheet #Chargers will play for 2 years in StubHub Center for 2 years, then join the #Rams. There was no last-ditch effort from San Diego to stay @PFWeekly Pro Football Weekly Retweeted Ian Rapoport Get ready for the Los Angeles Chargers

Major Mud Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 (edited) They plan a rebrand, will they keep the Chargers name? What about the colors? I will miss those sweet powder blues! This is the logo they just released. Edited January 12, 2017 by Major Mud
YoloinOhio Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 @latimesFarmer The Chargers have announced their relocation on Twitter but have yet to contact the Rams.

Sad that is rare amongs all these BILLIONAIRES. Maybe he was too drunk again and forgot. Or maybe he got too busy counting his wife's money. Or planning on getting the Bills moved out of Buffalo. Don't worry though, most of his plans have worked and the LA Chargers is his latest success. How is this "stunning" news. The death of the NFL in SD has been ongoing since at least the time Kroenke announced he was moving and the Chargers or the Raiders would be his tenants. It's really been dying since the fat drunk owner of your team became one of the prime NFL power brokers.
