Nix/Whaley was so much better than the Marv/Jauron era and the Donahue era (Although Wahley's recent struggles are dipping him into Donahue territory) that I think my standards are so low that someone doing a decent to below average job looks like sunshine and roses. say what u want about Donohoe, and he made his mistakes no doubt, but he had balls and swung for the fences. They spread it out; they send it down. I don't think Whaley giving some power to McDermott is a sign of his diminishment. I think it's a good sign. Who knows talent outside the organization better than Whaley and his scouts? No one. They should be -and are - in charge of talent acquisition. Who knows the talent on the existing roster better than the coaches? No one. The head coach should be in charge of the 53 man roster. I'm also a big believe that Sully is negative just to be negative. Fortunately, for him, he writes for the Bills who prove him right too often. But his schtick wears thin. Not resigning PW after the 2004 season. Trading up for Losman. However, he is probably the best GM we've had throughout the drought which isn't saying much. McGahee! After that he faded into irrelevance but he did play great for 8 games or so. Doesn't justify waiting for a year before he played with so little long term impact. After that he faded into irrelevance but he did play great for 8 games or so. Wouldn't be surprised if drafting McGahee was a Ralph call, as well as trading for Brain Dead Drew. I purposely wrote it that way; the idea wasn't to be a dick or troll or overtly negative. 2.) Honestly though, with the schit storm we went through with the leaks (insert Trump joke here), firing Rex, Lynn's presser, Whaley's Presser, the disaster that followed it, and now hiring an HC - just because we hired another HC, does not make the other issues go away. Are these not somewhat relevant questions still? As of now, nothing is known about what McDermott's vision is and how he is going to run things; at least until the presser and then still not everything will be clear, which is fine btw; just a little hard to write about. Regardless, these articles are there because the underlying questions and concerns in the FO still exist; not every article should be a lets kiss everyone's asses... Thanks! FWIW - Willis McGahee is the 41st leading rusher in NFL history between Jim Taylor (40) and Earnest Byner (42) and ahead of guys like Herschel Walker, Roger Craig, Maurice Jones-Drew, Garrison Hearst,Terrell Davis. He finished his career with 8,474 career rushing yards and 4.0 yards per carry. Interestingly, McGahee finished with only 638 fewer career rushing yards than Marshawn Lynch and 2,388 rushing yards more than Travis Henry.
