Yeezus Posted January 7, 2017 Posted January 7, 2017 Here the Bills go again, hiring ANOTHER defensive HC. Why do they keep making this mistake. how many years and failed coaches will it take until they learn. And if Whaley is even more stupid and lets Tyrod go why the hell is he hiring a coach who can't develop a QB. When you want to draft a rookie QB hire a HC who knows how to develop one and understands the position. Whaley is clueless with these interviews, they are a joke. there is a reason none of the coaches the bills are interviewing are getting other interviews with legit teams. We are searching for mediocre HC's once again. Why do people automatically assume if we get the DC from seattle or Carolina our defense suddenly turns top 10 again. IT WON'T We have so many problems with our defense, mainly starting with the players. We have 0 NFL quality safety's, 1 good CB once gilmore leaves, maybe 2 decent LB's and the defensive line is a mess. We are no where close to our defense back in 2014. Hiring a defensive minded HC isn't going to fix that. Whaley might go down as the worst GM in Bills history

26CornerBlitz Posted January 7, 2017 Posted January 7, 2017 I missed the news. Who's been hired and who's on the coaching staff?
Johnny Hammersticks Posted January 7, 2017 Posted January 7, 2017 We hired a defensive minded HC? We hired a HC?
prissythecat Posted January 7, 2017 Posted January 7, 2017 Maybe the OP has sources from deep within ?

fansince88 Posted January 7, 2017 Posted January 7, 2017 Dont go skydiving or ridge jumping! I dont think you are in a position to make last second decisions.
Gray Beard Posted January 7, 2017 Posted January 7, 2017 I don't want a head coach who is personally involved with developing a QB. I don't want a head coach who is a "specialist" in offense, defense, special teams, a certain position, fitness, weight training, water intake, film study, or any other specific aspect of running a team. I want a head coach who knows how to delegate, knows how to lead, knows how to enforce proper behavior, and who know how to manage game time decisions.
Maury Ballstein Posted January 7, 2017 Posted January 7, 2017 Wait, what did I miss? The Bills have hired a coach? Who is it? No we haven't. An offensive coach is interviewing today. Op is always clueless on all Bills matters.
MDH Posted January 7, 2017 Posted January 7, 2017 Since you've obviously done a thorough study of the HC/QB development relationship can you give us a your list of all the QBs who have developed into top flight QBs and the HCs who oversaw this. Could you also include the head coaches previous leanings, either offensive or defensive. I'd love to see this thorough list you've put together and I'm sure that it will prove you to be correct that only an OC who is promoted to HC can develop a QB. I know that looking at the two greatest QBs of the past 20 years it's obvious how correct you are. Brady had the amazing offensive mind of Belichick to show him the path while Manning had the offensive masterminds Jim Mora and Tony Dungy. Big Ben had Tomlin, another offensive genius. Bree's had Marty Schottenheimer...and the list goes on. I'm not sure I need your entire list because it's clear from just these few QBs that an OC - and only an OC - can get the job done.
