r henderson Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 If there where ever a time for the Bills to have a bad season, next year is it. Stop thinking that we can get by on average qb play and just getting into the playoffs be this teams goal. The goal is to "Win the Super Bowl". Winning the Super Bowl with great defense and average qb play has happened three times in the history of the NFL. 85 Bears, 01 Ravens and Denver last year. This is the perfect storm rising for our franchise. This team is not a contender for the Super Bowl. This team is like a decaying tooth. Sooner or later you are going to have to fix it or get it pulled. The 2018 draft will provide two studs in UCLA's Josh Rosen and USC's Sam Darnold. By then hopefully this team has rid themselves of Whaley and hire a real GM who gets it. Pull the plug on Tyrod and take this team off life support.

Prickly Pete Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 Nope, they'll draft one this year, and next year they draft just out of reach even if they want one.
Bangarang Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 Lamar Jackson also. Maybe it's just me but I would not want him. He just seems like one of those guys who puts up great numbers in college and flops in the NFL.
Bleeding Bills Blue Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 Lamar Jackson also. I don't see him making wow throws. They're just sideline bombs and stuff. He's fast and electrifying, but i don't think he's going to be a great QB in the NFL
BrooklynBills Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 Remember when Brian Brohm was the surefire 1st overall pick. Or Matt Leinhart. Or Matt Barkley. Can't plan for two years from now.

He will have a new O coordinator after the wreckage left behind by Kennedy Polamalu, Jedd Fisch from Michigan so maybe he gets back on track. No guarantee he'll come out after this season unless maybe he returns to form and starts generating heat. I would be surprised if Darnold came out after the '17 season. I think he's planning on three years at SC. But if SC really comes on this year and plays for the championship, he might bail afterwards. If you knew Darnold would enter the '18 draft, I'd cut TT, make EJ the starter, put Sammy on IR, convert Shady to Safety, bring back Rob Ryan as DC coordinator. In other words, do everything to go 0-16. It would be "Suck For Sam" time.

Blokestradamus Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 I've watched a few defensive players against UCLA recently and I really can't say I was impressed by "The Rosen One". Let's not forget that Christian Hackenberg was the next Andrew Luck after his sophomore year. Never put off until next year what you can do this year.

rant_and_go Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 Coach and staff first. You really think the Bills drafted bad players the past 16 years? A lot of good talent was squandered. You need someone who can see what's next after Catch 'n Throw offenses.
Nitro Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 or geno smith 205 QBs draft since 2000 and only about 10 are successful. That is a lot of guys who could not cut it.

Handle the massive FA problem this year with eye toward tanking. Start Cardale next year... Go straight to bottom of league. Fire Whaley and Lynn after next season. Hire outsider to rebuild the franchise with total control, and give him his choice of the star QBs in the draft. If Lynn is coach and Cardale is the QB, we are a 4 win team next year.
End The Drought Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 Lamar Jackson also. Have you heard him talk? He's not intelligent at all and he openly admitted that he didn't play until this year because he didn't know the playbook. He's not going to be able to pick up an NFL playbook or dissect defenses. Athleticism is definitely off the charts though

So you name this thread: 2018 "Year of the QB's.....and in your post you can only name 2 of them? Gee, that's a lot to get excited about. Quite a Year of QB's.
