Ratcliffe to DNI is an underrated move. Using the smoke of Cummings to keep it secondary to the media is very Trumpian.

This not a battle of good vs evil, or even left vs right in the traditional sense. IMHO This is a battle of the public sector vs the private sector. That’s partly why you see so much traction for socialism. There’s a segment of the population that isn’t turned off by a complete public sector takeover. Donald Trump, an outsider, who’s used to getting things done is a HUGE threat to the waste that’s rampant in the public sector and the ‘Deep State’ doesn’t want that light shined to deep into their murky, corrupt and slovenly swamp.

You realize Trump and current Reps is spending more and taxing less right? Is this the responsibility government of which you speak? Because I see the budget decisions of the last few years exacerbating a serious long term problem. He looks a lot like what has come before on govt growth.

Yup.

Pretty sure he's going to be acting DNI -- which means no confirmation process. That means Ratcliffe will be able to move the ball dramatically forward in the SpyGate stuff -- then step aside for the new DNI once his work is done (and into a cabinet position in Trump's 2020 team).

Things are about to get real in DC, and the swamp knows it. Hence the panic.

It's been happening for two years without much, if any, coverage.

That won't work for much longer. It'll be undeniable soon enough. The question is what happens next.

i dunno. if we go by Trump's Tweet here, it would seem to suggest there will be another who will be acting DNI while Ratcliff is taken through the confirmation process. of course, i could be taking it out of context i guess, what's your take on the wording here?

Nope, I stand corrected -- whoever the acting is will declass the first truckload and then ghost.

The timing works.  If they're going to declass, it makes the most sense to do it during the August Congressional break.

If the French fought against anyone else the way they fight amongst themselves, we'd all be beret-donning baguette-sucking wine-slurping scarf-adorned snail-chowing egotistical unhygienic boors by now.

The inventor of that hover board that failed to cross the Channel was a Frenchman and he had a military grant to design it, at least that's what I've been told. Something seemed not quite right from the beginning. Since when is someone going to invent something for the French Military that can't go in reverse?

I always have.

But you probably think because I'm critical of Trump on some things,

1 - I want him impeached.

2 - I think he’s a racist.

3 - I voted for Hillary.

4 - I believe Obama was a great president.

Etc.

Now please name four concrete policies or actions that you’re critical of the President on. And the content of his tweets doesn’t count!

ACLJ Obtains Obama DOJ’s Immunity Agreements with Hillary Clinton Lawyers Cheryl Mills and Heather Samuelson to “Dispose” of Evidence and Refuse to Comply with Federal Law

The ACLJ has just obtained previously unreleased documents related to the Clinton investigation and immunity agreements given to top Clinton aids. These agreements reveal that James Comey’s Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Loretta Lynch’s Department of Justice (DOJ) granted immunity to Hillary Clinton’s aids and lawyers, Cheryl Mills and Heather Samuelson, from prosecution for anything found on their laptops violating multiple felony criminal statutes governing the mishandling of classified information and/or the removal or destruction of records, including Espionage Act provisions. Further, the DOJ and FBI also agreed to evade the statutory requirements of the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) by purporting to deem the contents of the laptops as not under DOJ or FBI “custody or control.”
