He could put more pressure on Dems if he did a better job of stating succinctly the obvious case for better securing our borders and putting the ball in the Dems court to get on board. The ranting about a shutdown and repeating himself too much (as he often does) takes away from the issue and making an effective pitch to Americans. Cite the recent caravan problem, the years of immigration abuse, the olive branch of long term residency for DACA people and put the ball in their court for all to see. First - were not the Mexicans to pay for this boondoggle? Second - there is near unanimous consensus among people who actually know things that a "wall" has the least bang for the buck in securing the border as compared to added staff/technology etc....I thought even you guys wanted government efficiency..... But his minions see that yelling loudly on TV about an inefficient use of taxpayer dollars that he said we would not have to pay for is a "win"! LOL (the best comedy has its roots in tragedy after all) Edited December 12, 2018 by TH3 1

DHS and ICE agents on the ground in San Diego disagree with this "consensus" vociferously. But what do they know?

LOL (the best comedy has its roots in tragedy after all) A wall alone won't do but staffing the entire border in such a way that it would be well secured means a lot of long term cost and costs that will rise over time. That would then be subject to ongoing funding making it easier for an administration who wants more open borders to simply kill it. Agree though that some additional staff and technology should also be deployed and Trump's wall does include technology. Tough to build a wall along the Rio Grande. Mexico unlikely to pay for the wall, directly speaking. Mexico could be a better neighbor and be a lot more cooperative. It's the biggest no brainer on earth that we need the border much better secured. Both parties should agree on that. They can argue about how to best do it but both sides should be committed to getting it done. Edited December 12, 2018 by keepthefaith

If only Trump could spin this as a New Deal type of opportunity like the TVA to create jobs for underemployed and unemployed Americans.

Deranged Rhino Posted December 12, 2018 Author Posted December 12, 2018 Tomorrow: https://saraacarter.com/clinton-whistleblowers-thursdays-public-hearing-to-reveal-explosive-information/ Special Counsel Robert Mueller was the director of the FBI at the time Campbell was a confidential informant and according to Campbell the information was briefed to Mueller by his FBI handlers. “(Mueller) received the documents, copies of which I still have, over a period of years and ignored a national security threat to the United States because of his political preference,” said Campbell, who said he is frustrated that the investigation into the Clinton Foundation and the other information he provided was apparently ignored years ago. “These men were in charge of transport of nuclear materials (inside the United States) while committing criminal activity here in the United States and signing major US utility contracts,” said Campbell, referring to the information he provided the FBI on the American company Transportation Logistics International, also known as TLI, was the primary transport company for Russian enriched uranium sold to the United States. Reminder, the real goal of the U1 scandal from Russia's perspective was NOT the access to the US uranium - but access to the mines in Kazakhstan. ******************** https://www.theguardian.com/world/2018/dec/12/antarctica-two-technicians-dead-mcmurdo-station-ross-island 1

Fitton is much more attractive. If he can wear a short-sleeved shirt and flex his biceps a few dozen times to get "better" questions from the female (and maybe some male) members of the committee. ?
