Think about the larger picture too, the availability of the material - plus the access to the children he admitted to abusing - means there's an industry behind this. A big money one too, that some in DC just keep on protecting for some reason... Why aren't the record number of arrests of specifically child traffickers/abusers made by this DOJ getting so little coverage by the corporate news? Hell, it's even hard to find on local news outside of big markets. In 2014 there were 402 arrests for this crime. There were well over 10,000 made by this DOJ in 2017. Wonder what changed. I knew there were people like this, but the casual, shameless conversations aren't something I conceived of. A horror movie couldn't even present this as dialogue, it would be considered too over the top. There has to be footage of this guy at speaking engagements, and interviews. I can't imagine what his public persona is like.

So blame these maybe not German air force in dire straits: chief of staff WORLD NEWSJUNE 27, 2018 Sabine Siebold BERLIN (Reuters) - NATO member Germany’s air force is in dire straits and funds are urgently needed to modernize its weaponry and systems, the air force chief of staff said on Wednesday. A February ministry report showed only 39 of 128 Eurofighter jets were available for training and combat use last year on average, and just 26 of 93 older-model Tornado fighter jets. Defence Minister Ursula von der Leyen has been pressing for increased spending after Scholz’s previous longer-term plan called for military outlays to edge lower after reaching 1.3 percent of economic output in 2019, up from 1.2 percent now. Von der Leyen has pledged that German military spending will reach 1.5 percent of gross domestic product by 2025. https://www.reuters.com/article/us-germany-military/german-air-force-in-dire-straits-chief-of-staff-idUSKBN1JN318
sherpa
My only comment is that when discussing these things, you have to be a ware of the definition of terms. In this instance, the Eurofighter aircraft "technical glitch" refers to a problem with the cooling system used to support a wing mounted defensive warning system. While that may technically cause them to categorized as not fully "mission capable," they could certainly go without it if needed. There are a number of classifications used by various forces, fully mission capable, mission capable etc. One has to dig into the definitions in order to fully understand what the real situation is, and there is always attempts to report things with budge as motivation, and wartime rules are way different. The Russians and Soviets before them constantly harp on the lack of availability of what they think are overly complicated US airplanes. In a conflict, things would change dramatically. The US has some serious issues as well. When Hurricane Harvey struck SE Texas lst year, only 28 of the 99 T-45 trainers at Kingsville Naval Air Station were deemed airworthy to fly off and avoid the storm. The remainder were hangared or otherwise rode it out. No damage, but not a good sign. Edited June 30, 2018 by sherpa

But the German Air Force apparently doesn't have enough Meteors and Iris-Ts to equip every Eurofighter for one combat mission, either. The Bundeswehr has some pretty serious issues...most of them in procurement and maintenance. For example: they decided years to go to a "JIT" procurement model for parts, and now are having a hard time fixing the defense pots on the Typhoon because their supplier was bought by EADS, who isn't/won't/can't make the necessary part. The complaints of stockpiles of spares being low have to take in to consideration that that is by design. Most of the flaws are procedural, not technical. (The Baden-Wurttemburg excepted, as it is a seriously !@#$ed-up ship.)

Just wanted to make the point that categorizations of weapon system readiness are grossly different in peacetime than in war, and often done for budget reasons. We used to have three classifications; fully mission capable, mission capable and airworthy. Big difference in numbers, and a lot of creativity goes on in those numbers. If you want parts priority you do one thing. If you want to pound your chest, you report another.

Deranged Rhino
********************************************************* It's the Washington Times but... https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2018/jul/1/us-really-did-have-manchurian-candidate-white-hous/ Why did Obama and Hillary take down Moammar Gadhafi, who had already given up his nuclear weapons? Was it to destabilize Libya, where ISIS could gain another foothold? Why did Obama help install the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt? What was the agenda behind the so-called Arab Spring? However, the coup-de-grace of anti-American activity was the JCPOA, or, to say it another way, the agreement to give Iran everything it wanted, including nuclear weapons and money — lots of money — which it immediately used to further destabilize the region, and existentially threaten the only democracy in the Middle East, Israel. To take it a step further, why didn’t Obama support the opposition against the Mullahs in 2009 when there was an obvious chance for regime change in Iran? Why didn’t Obama confront Bashar Assad’s chemical weapons use? One of the main unanswered questions is what ties did Valerie Jarrett really have to the Iranian regime? ****************************** Also big, working on second confirmation: http://www.arabamericannews.com/2018/07/01/four-arab-states-support-u-s-deal-of-the-century-in-the-middle-east/ "Despite the strategic mistakes made by Abu Mazen (Abbas) and his people," the Egyptian official said, "Kushner and Greenblatt were told, in no uncertain terms, that the Palestinians deserve an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital." "Kushner agreed to the Arab nations' demand and made it clear during his meetings with [Jordan's] King Abdullah and [Egyptian] President [Abdel Fattah] el Sisi that the interests of the Palestinian people will not be harmed if the regional peace plan is introduced without the Palestinian leadership's cooperation," he said. Deranged Rhino
Multiple indictments unsealed in Florida over the weekend, netted hundreds of pedophile arrests and ZERO MSM coverage (and hardly any local Miami coverage).
