Did you want to draft Dak Prescott or Cardale Jones in the 4th?

Cardale Jones was our target all along, can't believe he was still on the board *cough cough*

Whaley just isn't polished enough to be a GM. Remember, this is the same guy who sent out porn to a number of NFL coaches/front office people when he was in Pittsburgh. A GM cant say the things he said, even if they were true. Saying "I wasn't privy to that information makes the owner look bad. Especially with the Buffalo News reporters always looking for any tidbit that they can twist to make TP and the Bills organization look bad.

JW asked him similar questions to what these guys asked them....so yeah. He explained what happened exactly as Whaley had.

Your only sticking point is that Whaley lied about what he thought was going to happen with Rex and how he felt after it happened. So freaking what?

And I don't even think he was lying about considering Rex's future until after the season. I mostly believe him when he says he was focusing on the season. They seem to have a pretty straight forward routine for evaluating performance.

Rex was fired in week 16. After another bad loss. Do you really think that Whaley wasn't sure how it was going for ol Rex? Do you think he was thinking "well, I have no idea what will become of Rex, but let's just see what happens in the Jets game and then we can all sit down and see what's what"? Nah, you don't.

Point is that Whaley lied to preserve his own reputation (that has blown up) and he is as culpable as Rex (you don;t get credit for firing a guy who was a predictably bad hire).

Nonsense. Winning press conferences doesn't mean much in the overall scheme of things with respect to GM duties and responsibilities.

Half the time you say "This is what he said!" And quote or link exactly what he said as proof. Then I show you were wrong with "this is what he said" in the same press conference and your response is, "of course he said that..." he doesn't mean it.

His direct quotes (what he said) from yesterday's press conference are BS, regarding what he thought was happening with rex.

Why? So they can enjoy a hissy fit?

If TBN sages claim to represent the fans, then the line of questioning was nowhere near what the fans wanted to hear. Believe it or not, fans aren't as interested in the OBD palace intrigue as they are in things going forward, like the coaching search, pending free agency and the draft

How much time was spent asking those questions vs haranguing Whaley about his role in Rex's firing?

This. One of my favorite follow-up ridiculousness is Vic Carucci using several minutes to complain that Whaley said "we're close" but didn't define what "close" meant.

Mr Carrucci, I agree with you, more probing of that question would have been of interest to Bills fans. Why didn't you and your brother reporters "seize the day" and ask Whaley what he meant?

Answer me this. Straight and honestly. I know that's nearly impossible for you but try. For me. Do you actually believe that Doug Whaley had to say one word to Terry Pegula that would influence or change Pegula's opinion as to whether or not Rex needed to be fired? If they never said a word to each other do you think Terry would have kept Rex as the coach for next year?

Polian is basically Buffalo media.........he always kissed their asses when he was GM.........so we know he probably sees eye to buckeye with them.

Must......not.......admit.......problem......exists.......

You are incorrect about the porn thing. He sent it to one guy.......bad idea but one guy........that guy accidentally forwarded it to all those other people.

Wining games does. And that requires the GM pretty much accomplish two tasks---hiring a competent HC and franchise QB. Whaley failed multiple times on both.

The press conference was just the exclamation point win his incompetence.

But you use his direct quotes all the time, every day here, to show what was exactly on his mind.

Horse Hockey! His track record as a GM is not one of incompetence no matter how hard you try to drive that narrative.

So is the company line that we all attack Polian, the last competent GM we had, now?

If we are really mean does he have to give back his HOF jacket?

Is it too much for his "troubling" thoughts to make sense?

Why would we start Tyrod?

Why wouldn't we start EJ?

How is that an "awkward way of firing Rex"? Rex always reported directly to Pegula. Rex confronted Pegula directly.

If someone wants to argue the Bills front office is dysfunctional with the media, then sure, but I say who the heck cares. I think the media is being just as dysfunctional.

This is easy. If Whaley said "give Rex more time, like you publicly said you would in October", Pegula would have said "yes Doug".

But Whaley didn't say this. By all accounts, they trust him.

But...Whaley and Pegula talk constantly, so your question (the bolded part is off point.

You must be kidding. A GM has to be polished if he is going to get up in front of media and speak for the organization. Otherwise, you are not much more than a glorified scout. I'm not very confident that he is going to find that coach that will lead the Bills for the next decade.

Just look at the results.

How many successful teams look like this?

So Polian is now an idiot. OK.

In other words, the Bills are right and everyone else is wrong.

Meanwhile they have the longest current playoff drought on North American sports.

Yes, and this time, it's clear he is lying because he did it so badly. You know this and just won't admit this
