Go Bills!!! Posted January 3, 2017 Posted January 3, 2017 Ok, I made a hypothesis on Taylor playing better this year, but was wrong. Also, I can't argue that he hasn't become clutch in late-game Situations. He did a pretty good job of looking clutch at the end of the Dolphins game, but he had Carpenter and our Defense playing against him. I said his contract needs to be renegotiated, but if the Bills just kick him to the curb who the heck will be our QB in 2017? Do you think we're gonna draft a guy who can play right out of camp? Are they keeping EJ around to be the worst back-up in history? Is it going to be Jones and if so, who will be #2 and #3? We can say Taylor is not going to be The Bills QB, but who the hell else is gonna step in?
Gugny Posted January 3, 2017 Posted January 3, 2017 He's started 29 games in this league (28, technically). Two seasons into his playing career, really. Of course there have been growing pains. He hasn't been perfect. He's missed open receivers. But he also just QB'd an offense that was scoring at a rate comparable to the Super Bowl teams, with the only star receiver either injured or hobbled for the whole season. It would be quintessential Bills to unknowingly develop a solid QB and then let him go while he's on a manageable contract and watch him flourish somewhere else. You don't develop an 8th year QB. His development was done before he got to Buffalo.
The Jokeman Posted January 3, 2017 Posted January 3, 2017 Nope. He is keeping that as a tool to have surgery and recover in the off season keeping the Bills in Jitters. He holds the advantage. I'm pretty sure the injury clause only kicks in if said injury were to cause Tyrod to miss the entire 2017 season and I'm sorry no groin injury is that devastating especially if he passes a team physical in the preseason. If he doesn't then I call fowl because Tyrod is clamoring he could have played Week 17 but we took the chance away from him.
Hapless Bills Fan Posted January 3, 2017 Posted January 3, 2017 Gotcha. I just dont view it as a tool though. Its a reality. Hes either injured or not. He saw/will see a specialist. He's injured. There's nothing in there about "miss the entire 2017 season".

Sorry but Tyrod's numbers were inflated by a strong running game and am pretty sure 2 or 3 of those TDs he had were also setup by our defense thanks to short field positions. Tyrod is at best the 20th best QB in the NFL which to me not good enough. He's injured. Jokeman, Maj Bobby posted the actual injury clause. Fair enough I was wrong, I just reviewed the wording on Buffalo Rumblings but again I can't see any way Tyrod would fail a physical even if his groin goes without surgery.

bigK14094 Posted January 3, 2017 Posted January 3, 2017 The previous 15 games showed us how truly bad our passing game can be with Tyrod under center. The Jets game showed us that EJ sucks, Cardale Jones is nowhere near ready and that we have a schitty trio at the most important position on the field. Bills 2016 passing game was designed to go outside the hash marks (source A Lynn) So, TT worked in an O designed to throw to a limited part of the field, and to throw less than almost all the other QB's. That was the design of the O......TT didn't throw over the middle much....HE WASN"T SUPPOSED TO!!! Need a new O coordinator with a new O, and TT will be just fine. I am all for paying TT the money and getting a better modern O in place. If Bills dump TT...well, he will get his money elsewhere. Now, he has a good contract here, but, he CAN get one elsewhere. (at least imho)

(at least imho) Roman got fired because TT can't (as well as won't) throw over the middle. And I hope another team overpays him, because when it comes to crunch time, he's very easy to defend. Hence the team going 15-17 over two seasons, the second of which whilst boasting the best run game in football.

(at least imho) Thank you, finally!! Yeah this system only allows him to do so much. People just don't understand that Tyrod does what he's told and it may not look good but he runs the offense good. There's not a better option out there, if we keep Lynn we HAVE to keep Tyrod.

ganesh Posted January 4, 2017 Posted January 4, 2017 I think the biggest thing with those numbers is Taylor played in more games in 16 than he did in 15, and his number of TD's and yards DECREASED!!! ANd that is attributed to not having Watkins for most of the season and having stiffs like Goodwin and Robert Woods....He salvaged a little bit due to the presence of Justin Hunter, whom the Bills did not engage more in their game plan.
