Blokestradamus Posted February 15, 2017 Posted February 15, 2017 Have we given much thought to him playing WLB next year? Seems like his playing goal is 235 pounds which doesn't seem to suggest that he's looking to be a full-time pass rusher. Base downs playing off-ball LB, rotational rusher on 3rd down & obvious passing situations?
Pirate Angel Posted February 15, 2017 Posted February 15, 2017 Lorax is the one player that benefitted in Rex's scheme. He won't be worth the $$ in a 4-3. The cap room isn't there for a 34 year old linebacker with one good year.

YoloinOhio Posted March 1, 2017 Author Posted March 1, 2017 @josinaanderson I'm told the #Bills are currently scheduled to meet with the agent of LB Lorenzo Alexander, '17UFA, Fri & Sat. T-3rd in sacks in '16 w/ 12.5
KOKBILLS Posted March 1, 2017 Posted March 1, 2017 @salsports Bills LB Lorenzo Alexander tells me on our TV show that team and agent have had preliminary discussions about re-signing with club. How would he fit in a 4-3? Not whatsoever...
Saxum Posted March 1, 2017 Posted March 1, 2017 @salsports Bills LB Lorenzo Alexander tells me on our TV show that team and agent have had preliminary discussions about re-signing with club. How would he fit in a 4-3? He is good at shedding weight going from a DT to a LB; maybe he can shed more and be a strong safety?
RyanC883 Posted March 1, 2017 Posted March 1, 2017 Good question. Lorax strikes me as a guy that can do a lot. He did play some ILB in Washington. We could see him in a lot of positions if our DC wants to utilize all of his talents. Of course, hoping that his age doesn't catch up to him too quickly. perhaps he becomes ageless like James Harrison?
thebandit27 Posted March 1, 2017 Posted March 1, 2017 He's fine as a situational pass rusher and a guy that could take snaps at Sam in a pinch. If he'll take $5M I'd do it.

YoloinOhio Posted March 7, 2017 Author Posted March 7, 2017 Lorenzo Alexander out to prove he's more than just a "one-hit wonder" http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000790845/article/lorenzo-alexander-out-to-prove-hes-not-a-onehit-wonder?campaign=Twitter_atn

Base downs playing off-ball LB, rotational rusher on 3rd down & obvious passing situations? I think it comes down to one of him or Zach Brown. I'd rather have Zach I think but what are they asking and which other FAs do the Bills like? Without the full picture it is hard to know.
YoloinOhio Posted March 9, 2017 Author Posted March 9, 2017 @rapsheet The #Bills are working hard to try to retain pass-rusher Lorenzo Alexander, Im told. After 12.5 sacks at age 33, a clear priority.
ndirish1978 Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 we have ragland and we need to let zach brown leave They aren't even remotely the same type of player.
YoloinOhio Posted March 9, 2017 Author Posted March 9, 2017 @salsports Yes there's mutual interest in Lorenzo Alexander/Bills. They've had very good discussions. But team has not submitted offer to his reps yet.
YoloinOhio Posted March 10, 2017 Author Posted March 10, 2017 @salsports Bills and LB Lorenzo Alexander are "making progress" tonight. Both sides hoping to have something happen tomorrow. Still work to be done.
Royale with Cheese Posted March 10, 2017 Posted March 10, 2017 @salsports Bills and LB Lorenzo Alexander are "making progress" tonight. Both sides hoping to have something happen tomorrow. Still work to be done. He's actually pretty athletic. I wonder if he can play WLB?
YoloinOhio Posted March 10, 2017 Author Posted March 10, 2017 @salsports Re: Lorenzo Alexander, if he re-signs. Most likely Sam (off the ball) in 43, but often coming off edge for pass rush/3rd downs.
likei've Posted March 10, 2017 Posted March 10, 2017 Will people please stop with the special teams talk? If we pay anything close to what he wants its for his pass rushing skills. He was the leading sack leader in the nfl when he was injured in special teams. If you pay him, and he gives even close to the same production, you've got to believe this coaching staff won't make the same mistake.
Andrew Son Posted March 10, 2017 Posted March 10, 2017 @salsports Re: Lorenzo Alexander, if he re-signs. Most likely Sam (off the ball) in 43, but often coming off edge for pass rush/3rd downs. That's how I see it. Another nice fit for McDermott, versatility and plus intangibles. I'll be shocked if we don't sign him
