PolishDave Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 I think all of Bills running issues today were due to the QBs. Jets didn't even pretend to play pass defense. Tyrod definitely gives them another dimension, but i think the run game can be strong as long as they have a QB back there who can complete an NFL caliber throw. EJ was a **** show, and Cardale was marginally better, as long as his first read was open. What you saw today is how much easier it is for the other team to game plan against Buffalo when TT is not the quarterback. And that is a sign of what the Bills will probably look like on offense with a rookie in here. Maybe a good rookie would be a little better than what we saw today. But it is still going to suck compared to the point production this offense got with Tyrod in there this year.
Best Player Available Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 And improved their draft pick by 5 spots. How many years did we piss and moan about useless wins? Today was a tank job. Sitting Taylor was part of tanking. It's all el Peguls teams can do correctly. The rebuilds though? do not go as well. Apparently some fans accept mediocrity and call it a win win. Good for you!

Jets are super banged up and couldn't rush the passer for sh*t all season. 10 points, 3 turnovers, 60 yards rushing......atrocious.
Marty McFly Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 It was a tank and anyone with a brain could see that we jumped up 5 spots to draft 10th. That was a good move. Bills would be really stupid to let tyrod go. All you romo fans are gonna be pissed wen he comes in and ends up on ir by week 4 with a huge price tag and tyrod is starting for another team
Pine Barrens Mafia Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 Honestly, is 7-8, 1-4 in our division any better than 2-14? Please, DW, find a real franchise QB This right here is my point.
bobobonators Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 Just for comparison it is also just like we are when Shady is not playing For comparison shady not playing vs NE and still scoring 25. Or having 8 attempts vs Mia and scoring another 25. And another 5 attempts vs Cincy and still winning.
Niagara Bill Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 If Bridgewater is ready to go next season, SAm Bradford might be...he played really well for the Vikings this year...set the NFL record for completion percentage at 71.6%...20 TD's 5 INT's, near 100 QB Rating...all with no running game in sight and a mostly dreadful O Line Why is it that nobody loves Sam Bradford???? there must be a reason as he moves from team to team I for one would prefer TT to Bradford
ALF Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 I just hope Taylor accepts a new more realistic contract with good incentives. Brock in Texas with his big contract should make teams more cautious .
Niagara Bill Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 This game was over on the first play when EJ had to stand and stare at the sidelines looking for the play....the first fuuggin play....6 days of preparation, and Lynn and his boys cannot give the QB a play to run without out thinking the other defence because they JETS are so smart????? The first step in playing football is to do what you do best until the other team stops you on a regular basis. A QB on a winning team NEVER stands starring at the sidelines trying to hear a play call
All_Pro_Bills Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 It was a tank and anyone with a brain could see that we jumped up 5 spots to draft 10th. That was a good move. Bills would be really stupid to let tyrod go. All you romo fans are gonna be pissed wen he comes in and ends up on ir by week 4 with a huge price tag and tyrod is starting for another team Yup, it was a tank and I thank them for it. As I was watching the game for reasons unclear to me, I said to myself please don't win this game and for once the Bills came through. I not sure what all the hate is for Tyrod. He did exactly what he was expected to do at the start of the season. The team's objective on offense was to run the ball effectively and throw in some passing attack when needed. Protect the football and minimize mistakes. They accomplished this and although they didn't beat a team with a winning record except for Brady-less NE I'm not blaming Tyrod and the offense at the end of the season. The other part of the plan was to let the leagues #1 defense keep the opposition off the scoreboard. Give me 17 points and we'll win every game, right? The defense and Rex by extension just didn't perform. The entire 1st game against the Jets, 2nd half at Miami, the 1st half at Seattle, Pittsburgh and at home against the Dolphins, this defense just plain sucked. How many short-fields did this defense give to our offense? How many 3 and outs when it counted against a good team? Not many. Sure Tyrod has his limitations but what are the options available? Some re-tread free agent QB or a back-up coming off his rookie contract? These are long-shot bets not improvements. Romo? Who knows if he'd even come here and he's one good hit from retirement. Bradford, Glennon, Foles, and others discussed on the board. Anyone expecting these to pan out is just working with hope and prayers. No team is out there throwing franchise QB's into the bargain bin. The only viable option is through the draft by getting a top pick or by pure luck like Dallas or Seattle or New England. This draft looks pretty light on high-end QB talent. The rational thing this off-season would be to keep Tyrod for at least another season, see if Jones can develop, and look to the draft for a potential sleeper in the draft.
PromoTheRobot Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 Why Qbs are just judged on purely wins and losses is mind boggling to me. Give the man a respectable defence that doesn't give up 250 rush yards a game, a field goal kicker who doesn't shank game winning kicks, and competent coaching, and you easily have 10-11 wins this yearBecause a lot of people can't think beyond wins and losses. They think they are being Bill Parcells evaluating talent.
MAJBobby Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 Shady played. How'd he look? Tyrod facilitates much of the run game success. Neither Tyrod or Shady is a 5.5 ypc back anywhere else in the NFL. Of course you don't agree with Tyrod's value.......which is why you've said the Bills shouldn't trade Tyrod for less than a first and a second. For what a series. 1600 yards without Tyrod jesus Yeah tyrod makes and elite RB elite
The Frankish Reich Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 What we saw was how the Bills look with (1) a QB who will be out of the NFL next year; (2) a QB who had not previously played a regular season down in the NFL. Do not confuse EJ's incompetence and Cardale's inexperience for Tyrod's specialness. Ryan Fitzpatrick on the Bills vs. Bryce Petty starting for the Jets = Bills win.
