Gugny Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 He did have input into hiring him. If Doug Whaley helped Rex Ryan - a guy whom everyone knew would undo everything Whaley did in building a top defense in the league - then he's pretty effin stupid. I will never believe he wanted Rex here. Ever.
Deranged Rhino Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 @JoeBuscaglia #Bills GM Doug Whaley: Rex Ryan recommended Anthony Lynn to be the interim head coach So far, this is the most interesting tidbit to come out of this comedy show.
BaaadThingsMan Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 I am trying to find out what you do for a living in spite of your job title, nice work there
Reed83HOF Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 Tyler Dunne @TyDunne 17s18 seconds ago Right when you think failing to pick up a kick return is as bad as it gets for the Bills, you see a press conference like this. Bizarre.
John from Riverside Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 No, he turned to Sully and flatly said "no" he didn't have input. Once again....that could be interpreted in a couple of different ways...... Input - data that results in action or opinion - but someone else makes decision because he doesnt have power to give direct input Now I will say this.....Doug is also hedging on the structure of how the new HC will report to. I get the feeling that Whaley wants to change that structure so that the HC DOES report to him. Frankly that is not a bad structure.
Coach Tuesday Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 As Kevin Massare said on Twitter, Rex reported right to The Pegulas. He was fired by the Pegulas. How is this hard to understand? We're actually fixing our organization structure to be the way it *SHOULD* be, putting our GM in charge of everything. It's pretty clear Whaley didn't want Rex, and that's why Whaley gets his shot now to hire his own coach. You know what the word input means right?
Bangarang Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 This is bad. This organization is a mess. Whaley is clueless. The Pegulas are either meddling owners who fired the HC without consulting the GM or this is the 2nd HC in a row that has quit. Now the guy that wasnt involved in the firing of our HC is now in charge of picking the next one. Such a joke.
Deranged Rhino Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 I am trying to find out what you do for a living in spite of your job title, nice work there I couldn't tell who asked that, recognized the voice though... anyone know? Whoever it was deserves a beer... and should try harder to do their job better.
Jerry Jabber Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 Looks like another two to three years of the more same crap we've been getting from this team.
Bob in STL Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 One reporter said "I'm trying to figure out what you do for a living" then said "I was not trying to be crass" What a clown - who is that?
Gugny Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 The Pegulas hired Rex. The Pegulas fired Rex. The Pegulas benched Tyrod. Meddling owners.

Dirtbag Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 I couldn't tell who asked that, recognized the voice though... anyone know? Whoever it was deserves a beer... and should try harder to do their job better. sounds like bucky to me.
Deranged Rhino Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 One reporter said "I'm trying to figure out what you do for a living" then said "I was not trying to be crass" What a clown - who is that? It wasn't Sully... but it was a Sully-esque question. sounds like bucky to me. Ah, could be.
Fadingpain Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 "I'm trying to figure out what you do for a living..." Who the hell asked that?! Sounded like Mike DeGeorge! I'm dating myself.
26CornerBlitz Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 @MatthewFairburn Doug Whaley said he's not worried about the perception of the organization after what they did to Anthony Lynn last week.
Reed83HOF Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 Jerry Sullivan @ByJerrySullivan 18s19 seconds ago The Pegulas are sure involved in a lot of decisions. Too bad they don't have the guts to face the music

jimmy10 Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 actually I am not sure that he said that.....I thought whaley worded that very carefully Exactly. "Privy" is a tricky word. Lawyer's dodge.
