Gugny Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 You really believe that he was not throwing Rex under the bus before the decision was made? He is just saying that "he was not privy to that conversation" - that does not answer the question about his involvement. He is parsing words in the tradition of Bill Clinton. Update: He just said he did not have input. I do not believe that at all. He didn't have input in hiring him; why would he have it in firing him?
BaaadThingsMan Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 Is it the Bills fault or is the press contributing to the clown show nature of the presser? Whaley just isnt a very good speaker, regardless of the subject.
Coach Tuesday Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 He didn't have input in hiring him; why would he have it in firing him? He did have input into hiring him.
sullim4 Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 Scott Berchtold should be fired. This is even worse than I thought it might be.
WEATHER DOT COM Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 Whaley and Terry watch every single game together. It's absurd to imagine they never talked about the coach...
bananathumb Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 You want this weakling stooge running things?
Deranged Rhino Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 Please stop saying "at 7-9, we're close". Thanks.
Chilly Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 As Kevin Massare said on Twitter, Rex reported right to The Pegulas. He was fired by the Pegulas. How is this hard to understand? We're actually fixing our organization structure to be the way it *SHOULD* be, putting our GM in charge of everything. It's pretty clear Whaley didn't want Rex, and that's why Whaley gets his shot now to hire his own coach.
Reed83HOF Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 Will Brinson @WillBrinson 56s56 seconds ago How can the GM of a professional football team claim with a straight face he doesn’t know why the former head coach of the team was fired? Albert Breer @AlbertBreer 41s41 seconds ago ... So the GM wasn't part of the decision to fire the coach, then the interim coach wasn't part of the call to bench the QB.
BaaadThingsMan Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 Why is any of the inner workings and structure of the front office anybodies business?
26CornerBlitz Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 @SalSports Marcell Dareus' guaranteed money for games he missed gets paid back to Bills, according to Whaley
LB3 Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 Throwing the owners under the bus seems like a poor survival strategy. There is no way he's throwing the Pegulas under the bus without their approval. If he is, he's gone by the end of the day.
Deranged Rhino Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 "I'm trying to figure out what you do for a living..." Who the hell asked that?!
Peter Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 Of course you don't, why would you? I do not believe that a GM of ANY NFL organization would have no input to ownership regarding the head coach.
May Day 10 Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 What lies? Zero influence on the coach being fired... team policy to only speak with the coach's voice
Fadingpain Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 Richard Deitsch Verified account @richarddeitsch The Bills are an epic management disaster and as a former Buffalonian and one who cares about the city, I'm bummed for the people there.
26CornerBlitz Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 @JoeBuscaglia #Bills GM Doug Whaley: Rex Ryan recommended Anthony Lynn to be the interim head coach
