MAJBobby Posted December 31, 2016 Author Posted December 31, 2016 Who the heck is Watson? Just curious, does your buddy agree that Whaley is "toxic" to HC candidates right now? My impression is: it might put off the "big name" guys who want personnel control or at least a say and who have their pick of jobs. But when all is said and done, there are only 32 of these jobs in the world Most coordinators/previous HC are going to at least want to talk about the job - maybe they have questions they want answered about what really went down or all the leaks etc, what are the Bills real intentions with Tyrod etc. But they're not going to let it keep them away Ill ask them. DeShaun Watson is who he thinks will be the BU.

"Toxic, no thats not the right word. However there will be pause for an in demand guy to pick the Bills. Not throwing stones, because every team has politics. Bills just seem to be played out for everyone to see. There are people in that organization that love airing the dirty laundry and that goes alot longer than Whaleys time there." "Also any coach that wants control of the 53 will likely look elswhere because of Doug keeping control of the 53 and recently the 46, smart business decision but will be asked about it by coaches in interviews as well." "He is a very skilled talent evaluator he or his scouts however struggle assigning value. They do it very well in Free Agency not so Well in draft. Example Shaq Lawson is extremely talented however we didnt see him as value until after pick 25 because of the shoulder. Ragland another good player had him as a mid 2nd and never would have traded up. Its weird too because 9 time out of 10 they get great value from Free Agency and trades. That all being said i would work for both him and Manos they are respected talent evaluators in this league" Wrapped up with "Don't believe everything in the media. The Bills position is right now the best position open and there are alot of pros to that position. It certainly is not what it is being portrayed as right now. Happy New Year D1" Thats what the friend on W coast said about is if Whaley is "Toxic" Take what he says about talent evaluation these guys all tend to stick together lol.

He's brought in talented players, and seems to know talent when he sees it. But even beyond the draft with watkins/lawson etc. The overvaluation even factors into some of the contract extensions too. Not to say Glenn and Dareus aren't good players either - they are.
MAJBobby Posted December 31, 2016 Author Posted December 31, 2016 Oooo just in case anyone wanted to know. I asked current grade on Kelly "Not close to being done yet but on field 3-4. Add flags undraftable. May change once get to talk to player and drill the off field stuff"
BuffaloBillsMagic1 Posted December 31, 2016 Posted December 31, 2016 What is TT' contract per year? Is it 27 million for next two seasons?

fansince88 Posted December 31, 2016 Posted December 31, 2016 Make special note Bills Dr is the ONLY one that matters. Also "services of this contract" play in 2017. Also terminated for injury (not picking up option for performance different.) This groin thing is much to do about nothing except sports media spin to get click. So sick of them. Notice NOT one of them posted the actual clause but here it is. Hope this clears this up for everyone. get click? Like this post?
MAJBobby Posted December 31, 2016 Author Posted December 31, 2016 Would be interesting what he thinks of trubisky. Does he have Watson rated higher or just slotted to bills I will ask him. What i have found though with him and might be common he likes to talk rounds for players before the draft not specific grading which i guess is understandable even with someone you grew up with. Also wont get more defined until roughly a week before combine. He has told me some interesting things about how much ProDays and Combine matter in the organization he works with.

More work to do, like Watson alot more, Truninsky will get drafted higher though, same as I told you with Wentz and Goff"

Hmmm the dude sucks as a passer and you B word about TT? Wow! Dude will be a pick machine in the NFL.

MAJBobby Posted January 5, 2017 Author Posted January 5, 2017 Just figured i would Bump this with the surgery being done today.
YoloinOhio Posted January 5, 2017 Posted January 5, 2017 @albertbreer RE: the Tyrod Taylor situation ... If the Bills cut him while he's injured, union would argue he's entitled to his $27.5M for 2017. So Bills have to wait til Taylor's healthy before cutting him. Problem arises if that extends past 3/12, when $15.5M option bonus is due. If Taylor gets that $15.5M bonus from the Bills, then his $12M base becomes fully guaranteed. That makes it a $27.5M problem for Buffalo.

He just had a bogus surgery on a fake groin injury. Doesn't someone NOT in the union get to call bullschit on this cat?

Thanks Maj B more good gouge. I would say it passes they "eyeball test", they pick talent but sometimes seem to overdraft it or overpay for it. It certainly seems to be the case there has been leaks and dirty laundry since well before Whaley and unless there are wholesale changes, I doubt it goes away if/when Whaley does

It's not like we'd be paying it all out and eating the cap charge this year though. That'd be idiotic. Edited January 5, 2017 by dneveu
YoloinOhio Posted January 5, 2017 Posted January 5, 2017 @andrewbrandt Tyrod Taylor and @buffalobills contract situation ahead has "there will be lawyers" written all over it. The posturing has already begun. Herm Edwards said same thing on radio today

Hapless Bills Fan Posted January 5, 2017 Posted January 5, 2017 What is TT' contract per year? Is it 27 million for next two seasons? $32.7 next 2 seasons. $12M salary 2017, injury guaranteed. $13M salary 2018, no guarantee. $15.5M option bonus amortized over 5 years. If the Bills could persuade Tyrod to renegotiate and take $12M 2017, fully guaranteed, partial guarantee of 2018, and less option bonus it might be a win-win. The real problem with the contract from the POV "not fully sold" is the accelerated cap hit from the option bonus if the Bills move on after next year (or trade him). @andrewbrandt Tyrod Taylor and @buffalobills contract situation ahead has "there will be lawyers" written all over it. The posturing has already begun. Herm Edwards said same thing on radio today Any time there's a significant injury guarantee, if it is exercised there will be lawyers, don't you think?
