YoloinOhio Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 Could Rex - not Whaley - be the one who wanted him cut? Seems interesting coincidence that he has been no where near OBD until two days after Rex is out. @johnmurphyshow .@Fred22Jackson on being around the #Bills "My plan is to be around here as much as possible...I hope we can make that happen"
Spurna Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 Maybe signing a one-day contract with the Bills before retiring?
The Big Cat Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 Interesting. I think we toyed with the idea the Rex purged the locker room of its alpha so he could take over.
26CornerBlitz Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 Was on the opening segment of the John Murphy Show today.
MarkyMannn Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 Maybe the restaurant needs a cash infusion He can't be serious about a comeback
YoloinOhio Posted December 29, 2016 Author Posted December 29, 2016 So Fred said that Whaley lied to him... but could it be because Whaley intended to not cut him and told him that ...then Rex got his way?
baskingridgebillsfan Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 One day retirement makes senses. Plus you know Russ bring in a fan favorite to move the conversation
The Big Cat Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 So Fred said that Whaley lied to him... but could it be because Whaley intended to not cut him and told him that ...then Rex got his way? Stupider things have been posited on this board.
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 Could be, but the timing does indicate more to it than that. Maybe signing a one-day contract with the Bills before retiring?
Utah John Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 Maybe it was a last chance to see some of his former teammates. There will probably be a lot of new faces next year.
Mr. WEO Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 His restaurant is opening an outpost in the stadium.
BmarvB Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 Maybe signing a one-day contract with the Bills before retiring? That's a possibility
GunnerBill Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 Screw it make Fred Head Coach. He is a better more natural leader than any of the last half dozen. I am being slightly sarcastic of course but I really think this search needs to focus on finding a leader. We made Greg Roman the highest paid coordinator in the league so paying guys to do the xs and os shouldn't be a problem. Hire the guy who strikes you as a leader.
WhitewalkerInPhilly Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 Anthony Lynn's new RB Coach? That was my first thought. Fred was always a worker. A lot of really talented guys just have natural talent and get thrust into the starting role. Fred knows what it's like to start at the bottom.
YoloinOhio Posted December 29, 2016 Author Posted December 29, 2016 I think Fred was pretty much done when the Bills cut him, but it was a bigger deal in the locker room than on the field. That said, I'm pretty sure he could have contributed more than Boobie last year and Reggie Bush this year. Just saying.
zow2 Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 Maybe Fred can help coach the rushing attack to be #1 or something?!? uh, well i guess its going to be tough to improve that.
