26CornerBlitz Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 @buffalobills GM Doug Whaley will officially be leading the organization's head coaching search.
kota Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 Good. He needs that kind of responsibility and power.
BringBackFergy Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 Is Doug Leading the Charge? I Feel the Rush!! I Billieve!!
Clemson Bills Fan Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 Between most fans being fed up with Whaley (I am personally not yet) and solid evidence that Whaley wasn't a huge fan of Rex/ St. Doug, why not give him the reigns so he goes down if this next HC doesn't work? I think this is the best route to go.
CommonCents Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 Is Doug Leading the Charge? I Feel the Rush!! I Billieve!! Run deep!!! All in!!! Ahh shucks rebuild.
entropyrules Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 (edited) agree...Whaley needs to live or die with his hire....I like Whaley but I like having the Bills be a consistently winning football team more..if his hire doesn't hack it then he needs to go Edited December 27, 2016 by entropyrules
Hapless Bills Fan Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 Well this is how most teams do it... Does this mean the next HC will report to Whaley? I would not see that as a Bad Thing. Give Whaley the keys and see if he drives the bus to the top of the mountain, or off the cliff.
Andrew Son Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 Good. He needs that kind of responsibility and power. Yep. And if it doesn't work out, at least they gave him the rope he needed to hang himself. Need to find out one way or another
4merper4mer Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 agree...Whaley needs to live or die with his hire....I like Whaley but I like having the Bills be a consistently winning football team more..if his hire doesn't hack it then he needs to go It really is as simple as that. Note to Doug: Don't hire a coach who demands you pick his son's frat brother in the first round.
26CornerBlitz Posted December 27, 2016 Author Posted December 27, 2016 The question for me is will Whaley get to make the call this time?
thebandit27 Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 IMO, this is a very clear signal that Whaley will sink or swim with this decision. I think it's also a clear message to the fans that the owners intend to let the GM make this decision.
MAJBobby Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 Whaley i will help you. Hire Matt Patricia
John from Riverside Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 IMO, this is a very clear signal that Whaley will sink or swim with this decision. I think it's also a clear message to the fans that the owners intend to let the GM make this decision. That is how I took it as well bandit....no excuses
Clemson Bills Fan Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 It really is as simple as that. Note to Doug: Don't hire a coach who demands you pick his son's frat brother in the first round. You have made it clear that you hate Shaq, but I have a good feeling that reverting back to a 4-3 will have everyone happy we made the pick.. a full offseason and only having to worry about playing one position will make all the difference in the world.
Fan in Chicago Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 @buffalobills GM Doug Whaley will officially be leading the organization's head coaching search. Big thumbs up on this decision. Send Brandon on a vacation during this search to a place that doesn't have a cell phone signal
H2o Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 If this is true, and I say IF, it will be the first time Whaley has hired a coach. This is what was needed. Give Whaley that control and if we flop then there is no one to blame, but him. Now he is a legit GM.
bobobonators Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 If you're going to keep Whaley, you might as well let him run the damn show. I agree with this. We'll see what he does. If Whaley can manage to improve the defense while not blowing up the offense, I'll be impressed.
