TPS Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 Second verse, same as the first. Another hire down the drain to make this team and especially the owner look like the same buffoons we had prior. Hire a damn president of football ops and develop a plan and then implement the plan. Constantly chasing coaches is a joke and proven for 17 years to amount to a steaming pile of dung. So after two drafts for a 3-4 defense that stockpiled defensive players, now what. Just so many problems with always reshuffling the deck. Not necessarily. Rex ran a mix of schemes. You can have a similar 4-3 alignment that Schwartz had with Lawson, Dareus, KW (or Washington), and Hughes. LBs of PBrown, Ragland, and ZBrown.
MAJBobby Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 Dennis Thurman will be gone in the off season as well...no way a new HC keeps a Rex coordinator. Unless the New HC is a Rex coordinator hmmm
YoloinOhio Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 @salsports Don't know this but wouldn't doubt for a second if Rex knew so asked for this now so he could watch his son play Saturday night at Clemson
sodbuster Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 So this is basically a tryout for Lynn, right?
BaaadThingsMan Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 The players made a statement last game on defense, wrecks must go. See ya bud.
TPS Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 That's terrible! Terribly funny! Though I do feel bad for them on a personal level given what's gone on in their lives this year.
In space no one can hear Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 My prediction? They will keep Lynn as head coach and bring back Pettine as defensive coordinator.
NoSaint Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 @sbnationNFL Some Bills players have said that Rex gave too much of the defensive authority to his brother Rob ill echo something ive said for a year plus -- rob was really disorganized when he was here in NOLA. it was the first time i saw him week in and week out and regardless of their talent issues, things like 10 or 12 men on the field was an issue i complained about nearly a year ago when we brought him in. these two are creative and seem fun and that can work but as a coach you also have to be incredibly prepared and making sure YOU do all the work and own every situation so your guys can go out there and think as little as possible. im all for a guy that can smile and joke but you have to have that eye for detail and strong communication. these two have completely underwhelmed in the periods i watched them closely.
DriveFor1Outta5 Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 This is only a good thing if Pegula(s) and Brandon stay FAR away from the hiring of the next HC. They won't. That's why so many of us want to see Brandon gone. Until that happens, I'm concerned.
CountDorkula Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 I feel for Rex, but this is a well deserved firing. Rex gets 15MM for getting fired. I do not feel anything but get you and your brother as far away from buffalo as possible!
K-9 Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 Wonder who fired him? TPegs? DW? Brandon? Probably the person he directly reported to. That's usually how it works.
LabattBlue Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 @salsports Don't know this but wouldn't doubt for a second if Rex knew so asked for this now so he could watch his son play Saturday night at Clemson Wow. Way to think outside the box Sal. I don't think there is a .0001% chance this is how it played out.
joemac Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 Too bad for Rex, but his defense, his specialty, sucked and when you give up 200 yards rushing to the same guy twice, something is wrong with your defense.
r00tabaga Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 Hmmmm I said this was a done deal a week ago.... Watch Rex really close. I think he has been already told. This last loss did them in. Nobody knew anything. If they won last two I think he stayed.

Not really this team can easily go to a 4-3 Shaq is a DE was in college is in NFL Washington moves inside to play 3 tech like college Ragland (hardest fit in 4-3 IMO) Darby still a CB 4-3 doesnt effect that coverage schemes do. So where is the hard transition again?
4merper4mer Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 Did they clarify exactly what those duties were? Come on dude, it was so obvious that 10 out of every 11 defensive players knew.
Juice_32 Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 My prediction? They will keep Lynn as head coach and bring back Pettine as defensive coordinator. I really hope not. We need the run D to get better, not worse.
Big74Mac Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 Great late Christmas Present. Now we can get on with rebuilding again.
NoSaint Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 Not necessarily. Rex ran a mix of schemes.
