Augie Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 Yep. And I'd agree that it was Russ and the Pegulas. I can see Whaley being complicit , but more a bystander. He was an inherited GM, Russ a back room business type. He probably felt his job status was shaky, and was more than happy to agree with the popular opinion. I think Whaley knows he's next on the hot seat and would like to have a major say in hiring a HC , as most GMs get to do. I'm not a big Whaley fan, but it appears he's safe with the Pegulas for now. He needs to be a big part of the reason things get fixed. The right HC could turn this group around rather quickly. They're not bereft of talent like Cleveland. I agree 100% with the bold part.
