If it's not this crisis that does her in, it'll be the next. Most Germans are beyond done with her.

Leaders should be removed after two terms, they have worn everything very thin by then.

the US has it right but lame duck status makes that less than optimal

I'd welcome term limits in Congress as well.  The long term relationship these Senators and Congressmen have with lobbyists, special interests, etc. makes for a corrupt, insider system.

Term limits won't solve that.  You have to be groomed before receiving the medallion to run for anything in either party.

I just now caught that - capital punishment AND up to 20 years in jail?

How in hell does that work?

Especially when one of those Glade plugin things now costs $150k.

Their English is fine as far as I can see. Koko78 said the same above that I did:

" So they're going to kill the "saboteurs", and then them let them sit in prison for 20 years? "

There's a "gist" to that?

"Ayatollah Sadeq Larijani, Iran's judiciary chief, warned against what he called "economic saboteurs" who could face capital punishment and up to 20 years in jail."

I would think "and"  should be " or ", I guess that's just me.

It’s secondary to the person out front.

How do they figure? He's advocating peace (through submission) with the Cartels and promoting open borders. That makes him and Mexico now a direct national security threat on our southern border.

A narco state on our southern border will beget a military presence along said border.

Meh - how much worse can it possibly smell over there?

I agree completely. My original response wasn't aimed at getting an explanation out of you, but rather a rhetorical response (or at least what sounded like one) to the redundancy of the Ayatollah's threat: Not only will we kill you, we will jail you as well.

Well, he is advocating acts of war, through public policy which is incompatible with American sovereignty.

While it's not yet time to go to war, it is absolutely time to build the wall, and to militarize it.

The very interesting thing about that is

Quote

Mr. Seehofer demanded that Germany block migrants at the border if they have no papers, or have already registered in another European country.

Ms. Merkel, who supports free movement across Europe’s borders, has been opposed to any moves effectively resurrecting border controls until Monday night, when she made the deal to stay in power.

The Schengen Agreement dictates free movement between most EU countries.  Germany backing away from that and instituting border controls is a huge blow to the EU.
