Tiberius
I sure hope the WH gets this one right. If I remember correctly G W Bush had Chavez removed and it caused a big up roar. "Speak softly and carry a big stick" was a quote originally made because of Venezuela and Germany, I think. ● Violent clashes erupted in the capital, where thousands of protesters swarmed the streets and forces loyal to Maduro responded with force; seven people reported wounded. ● Maduro said the military has remained loyal; government leaders denounced a “coup” attempt by a “reduced group of military officials” and warned of a “counterattack.” ● Guaidó appeared with mentor Leopoldo López, freed from house arrest, urged “nonviolent” action and claimed to have a list of military officials who support him. ● A Guaidó spokesman said there were no plans to advance on the presidential palace; Maduro’s whereabouts were not publicly known. But the first instance of him using it as a "foreign policy principle" was the Venezuela crisis in 1902. What's funny is that Tibs is almost correct, but still wrong enough to look like a complete ***** asshat.
