Why has the NFL waited this long? A spring league with the NFL's shield on it is needed on so many levels. From player development to just having some football to watch in the spring.

Is it only veteran FA's or can UDFA's also play/sign up for that league? Would probably be around the time the draft was over so would be good for them to get some game time for teams to pick up some players before camp.

6 games - I assume they mean not 6 games per team with only 22 day schedule.

Per a source with knowledge of the situation, the “Spring League” has no connection to the NFL. In a memo sent Thursday by Dennis Curran to all NFL teams, the league explained that the new venture will launch in 2017, and that it “is being operated by the same individual that ran the [failed] FXFL."

4 teams playing each other once is 6 games total.

Wk.1 1 vs 2, 3 vs 4

Wk.2 1 vs 3, 2 vs 4

Wk.3 1 vs 4, 2 vs 3.
