HumbleAndHungry Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 (edited) Tyrod should be cut at the end of the year. This would create some cap savings that could allow us to sign someone like eric berry or alshon jeffrey which would fill a vital need. If we sign berry we draft corey davis or mike Williams. If we sign Jeffrey we draft someone like Teez Tabor. Also, in an offensive centric league the qb is the most important position. Cardale would be the perfect play next year. It is a win win situation for the bills. His cap hit is less than a million per year. If we play him and he shows he can be "the guy" then we build around him. If we play him and hes not the guy, we yield a high pick in the 2018 draft which will have many more qb propsects available (Sam Darnold, Lamar Jackson, Josh Rosen, Jake Browning) all of whom should have first round grades. Sign a vet to play behind cardale such as Hoyer or Keenum. Either you have your qb of the future or you yield a high pick in a qb heavy draft in 2018. Edited December 20, 2016 by Finkle Is Einhorn
BillnutinHouston Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 Hard to imagine vets like Kyle, Shady or Incog supporting this strategy as what's left of their respective careers slips away.
jeffismagic Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 Yeah, I would do that in Madden. Tanking in football doesn't happen.

Um.......no Dude couldn't beat out EJ for the number 2 spot and you want to just start him? He can compete for a starting job with other guys (whoever they are), but he is going to have to get a lot better before he earns starter status. You are just assuming he is going to be a serviceable starter. That is a huge assumption. And you are very likely to be wrong.
K D Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 Cardale couldn't even win the starting job at Ohio state. Why would anyone think he would win the starting QB job in the NFL? Especially after a rookie season where he didn't even dress

Ok. But playing him because there is a good chance he might be a train wreck is beyond stupid. That's something a Patriots, Jets or Miami fan would hope the Bills would do. If the Jets, Miami or the Patriots promised to start him next year all year no matter what, we should just hand Cardale over to them right now. Let's just go get Jeff Tuel back and start him all year. Maybe we can get someone to start Geno Smith next year? Edited December 20, 2016 by PolishDave

People say the exact same thing almost every year...next QB class is stacked, blah, blah, blah. When all is said and done there is typically 1 or 2 first round QBs and often the second one is really a 2nd or 3rd round grade just selected in the first because they are a QB. No thanks to pretty much everything in this post.
