I don't think [GM] Mickey [Loomis] would hold him back or ask for all that much in return at this point." Trading Payton could have significant financial benefits, freeing up around $40 million. That, combined with Brees' inevitable departure in the coming years—he'll be a free agent after the 2017 season—will give the team far more flexibility.
YoloinOhio Posted December 18, 2016 Posted December 18, 2016 (edited) When trading a coach, does the coach need to agree to the trade? How does that even work... I could see him saying oh hell naw Edited December 18, 2016 by YoloinOhio
NoSaint Posted December 18, 2016 Posted December 18, 2016 I didn't think this possible but he's been inconsistent and frustrating at times this year. A fresh start might be good for him.... Pros: smart, bold, strong culture builder Cons: loyal to a fault, possibly a little burned out

And Payton definitely needs a change of scenery. Buffalo is beautiful in the fall and he can pick his own QB!
YoloinOhio Posted December 18, 2016 Posted December 18, 2016 I suppose he and Pegs could trade Rob Ryan stories on the yacht... Isn't there a rumor that Payton has an alcohol and/or drug problem?
Reed83HOF Posted December 18, 2016 Author Posted December 18, 2016 I suppose he and Pegs could trade Rob Ryan stories on the yacht...
dpberr Posted December 18, 2016 Posted December 18, 2016 There would be a big bidding war for his services. Further, the Bills would be up against some dome teams and warm weather teams. The coaching carousel could be big this year with some wild cards thrown in. What if Arians retires? What if the Colts fire Pagano to take a run at Payton? What if the Eagles have seen enough of Pederson?

He likes to go out post-divorce, I'll say that There was also the story about the saints docs not tracking pain pills properly. I haven't heard anyone point at that in a bit though

NoSaint Posted December 18, 2016 Posted December 18, 2016 "Lebatard looks like game" Sean Payton looks like the guy who gets liquored up and hits on the cart girls at the golf course. I think that's roughly how he spent his suspension season.
Dirtbag Posted December 18, 2016 Posted December 18, 2016 Sean Payton looks like the guy who gets liquored up and hits on the cart girls at the golf course. i agree. i think it's because he's always wearing that dorky golf visor.

I don't see any way he comes to Buffalo.

K D Posted December 18, 2016 Posted December 18, 2016 Let's get Payton and keep Rob and we can be the 2015 Saints
Chilly Posted December 18, 2016 Posted December 18, 2016 (edited) I'd absolutely trade for Payton. If the Saints are willing to part ways, he's worth a 4th rounder for sure. He's a solid coach and we haven't had one of those in years. Edited December 18, 2016 by Chilly
