Tiberius
Great op-ed from the guy who was hacked. The FBI is the Republicans big political machine. Fascism on the way? So I was surprised to read in the New York Times that when the FBI discovered the Russian attack in September 2015, it failed to send even a single agent to warn senior Democratic National Committee officials. Instead, messages were left with the DNC IT “help desk.” .... What takes this from baffling to downright infuriating is that at nearly the exact same time that no one at the FBI could be bothered to drive 10 minutes to raise the alarm at DNC headquarters, two agents accompanied by attorneys from the Justice Department were in Denver visiting a tech firm that had helped maintain Clinton’s email server. This trip was part of what FBI Director James B. Comey described as a “painstaking” investigation of Clinton’s emails, “requiring thousands of hours of effort” from dozens of agents who conducted at least 80 interviews and reviewed thousands of pages of documents. Of course, as Comey himself concluded, in the end, there was no case; it was not even a close call.... https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/john-podesta-something-is-deeply-broken-at-the-fbi/2016/12/15/51668ab4-c303-11e6-9a51-cd56ea1c2bb7_story.html?hpid=hp_no-name_opinion-card-f%3Ahomepage%2Fstory&utm_term=.9d2acedb9c9b

This idiot things that it is a priority of the FbI to give a !@#$ about this That a foreign government is breaking into one of the major political parties computers? No,, why would FBI care? Well, they didn't actually. They called the help desk and left a message... Next time I hear the Conservative victimization lobby crying about how unfair the world is to them I'll remark how the FBI corruptly supports them with the help of Russia

Koko78
So the FBI should have pulled agents off their normal duties and sent them to run around the DNC building screaming about the breach of their cyber security, instead of calling the DNC IT guys whose job it is to look into potential breaches? Makes perfect sense.
DC Tom
This idiot expects the FBI to warn private organizations of their attempted hack. This idiot things that it is a priority of the FbI to give a !@#$ about this The FBI doesn't even warn other government agencies about attempted hacks. Government agencies are responsible for their own cybersecurity. If the FBI gave any warning to the DNC, they went above and beyond what they normally do. The search warrant used to go through the emails, unsealed Tuesday, confirmed that Comey delivered his letter to Congress two days before the warrant was granted — meaning that investigators didn’t yet know what was in them. DC Tom
I accept it. But it was an abuse of power by the FBI and they threw the election. You are the one not accepting the obvious. No, it wasn't. Comey informed Congress - as he was required to - of new evidence the investigative team was required to look into - as they were required to. The article you linked was ridiculous - complaining that Comey told Congress about new evidence the investigators had to look at, before he looked at the evidence. Well...yeah, that's exactly what Comey told Congress. The story was absolutely nothing new or scandalous, just designed to appeal to people like you, lacking any discrimination, reading comprehension, or sense.
