BUNCH OF MULARKEY Posted December 14, 2016 Posted December 14, 2016 Marv lied about his age because people would think he was too old for the job.
BuffaloHokie13 Posted December 14, 2016 Posted December 14, 2016 Some comment conversations for additional context: nickellion79 @nickellion79 2h2 hours ago @jchenelly joe can you elaborate on the Coughlin mention? 1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes Joe Chenelly @jchenelly 2h2 hours ago @nickellion79 He has strong ties to key decision-makers at OBD. He's been behind the scenes at times. 1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes nickellion79 @nickellion79 2h2 hours ago @jchenelly very interesting. Do you think as a coach or front office type? Is Whaley in danger you think? 1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes Joe Chenelly @jchenelly 2h2 hours ago @nickellion79 I think Doug Whaley stays in place. 0 replies 0 retweets 0 likes and ty @ty_boe 2h2 hours ago @jchenelly youve broken some things in the past. You really think that could be an option? Id almost rather go the shannahans if rex is gone 1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes Joe Chenelly @jchenelly 2h2 hours ago @ty_boe He is liked at OBD & likes those there. The connection is real. Surely there'd be other options. Not saying a decisions been made. 1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes ty @ty_boe 2h2 hours ago @jchenelly didnt rex set that meeting up in the spring? And what kinda capacity you think? 1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes Joe Chenelly @jchenelly 2h2 hours ago @ty_boe Yes & HC; although, the whole idea of a football czar is not dead. 1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes ty @ty_boe 1h1 hour ago @jchenelly wow. Good stuff man. Would be a bummer if you get replaced by a guy you brought in. Lol
LB3 Posted December 14, 2016 Posted December 14, 2016 I think it's Coughlin too. What if he signed Ryan Nassib in FA Nassib's #1 fan here. Let's give it a whirl! Draft a QB high as well.
John from Riverside Posted December 14, 2016 Posted December 14, 2016 Do we also think the football czar thing might be in play with Coughlin?
26CornerBlitz Posted December 14, 2016 Posted December 14, 2016 We're back down the rumor rabbit hole with this guy again.
sullim4 Posted December 14, 2016 Posted December 14, 2016 I would be fine with Coughlin in a senior advisory role, i.e. doing the football stuff that Russ Brandon claims he isn't doing. I actually think he would be a good fit in that kind of position. He knows how a winning franchise operates and how to foster that attitude. He knows his way around the league and knows the major players. The Pegulas need someone who can guide them on building a winner - Russ has proven over the last 15 years that he knows nothing about it. I would not want Coughlin as a head coach, or as general manager. At his age, he is not a long term solution in either slot.
Manther Posted December 14, 2016 Posted December 14, 2016 I don't want him as a HC, adviser would be more to my liking. I don't want Coughlin either. Nihilarian Posted December 14, 2016 Posted December 14, 2016 Interesting stuff and the man does seem like he left the NY Giants with something to prove. Another thought is that If there is one man who knows how to beat the Patriots It's Coughlin. The guy does favor a 4-3 defensive scheme and likes to build a stout run game. He also knows what assistant coaches to hire and although it was his defense that failed him in 2015, 30th in pts allowed, 32 in yards allowed. The NY Giants kept the same DC in Steve Spagnuolo and that defense is much better this year 7th in pts, 14th in yards. I'd be for hiring him for whatever he wants to do. Buffalo is currently 7th in team penalties and although it's not as bad as last season in #2, those damn things can kill a drive or stop fast. Coughlin would bring some serious discipline to Buffalo.
Green Lightning Posted December 14, 2016 Posted December 14, 2016 We've done well with old coaches before. Tom's a winner. Why the hell not?
JoeF Posted December 14, 2016 Posted December 14, 2016 Does Coughlin's age really matter when the Bills average tenure during the playoff drought is less than 3 years....Coughlin has a five year stint in him, easily.
DCbillsfan Posted December 14, 2016 Posted December 14, 2016 He would bring discipline no doubt. My concern would be who could he bring in to be his coordinators. The Giants kept most of his staff if not all.
TheFunPolice Posted December 14, 2016 Posted December 14, 2016 what if Pegula or Russ is feeding misinformation to find out who the rat is who seems to want to leak crap to the media before big gamrs?
iinii Posted December 14, 2016 Posted December 14, 2016 Pegs wants yes men. Coughlin doesn't play that game. Next.
reddogblitz Posted December 14, 2016 Posted December 14, 2016 (edited) This dude nailed Rex, Roman, Hughes and others before anyone else. My guess is TT is inactive; I am really thinking it is Coughlin LOL Joe Chenelly @jchenelly 1h1 hour ago The inactive list Sunday could be telling. #Bills #BillsMafia And Tom Coughlin really is an option. CLICK BAIT ALERT Edited December 14, 2016 by reddogblitz
Jamie Nails Posted December 14, 2016 Posted December 14, 2016 How can it be click bait when there is nothing to click?
OhDozeBills Posted December 14, 2016 Posted December 14, 2016 I'd be so discouraged if we made Coughlin our next coach. He's past his prime and just too old. The Giants are having a pretty nice year without him which says something.
BobbyC81 Posted December 14, 2016 Posted December 14, 2016 Pegs wants yes men. Coughlin doesn't play that game. Next. Where do you get that from? He hired Tim Murray, didn't he? TM is far from being a Yes man
2020 Our Year For Sure Posted December 14, 2016 Posted December 14, 2016 I like this. We'll at least be prepared each week and take the game seriously again, and he'll be able to put a staff together.
KollegeStudnet Posted December 14, 2016 Posted December 14, 2016 Why put this shyt on a Bills board? The board argues over a team we all love and you bring up this? Why not? First amendment.
