The league will hold a Skills Showdown on Thursday, January 26 involving players selected to the AFC and NFC teams for this years game. The game and the new event will be held in Orlando, Florida.

The new competition will include four events. There will be a dodgeball game between members of the teams, a relay race, a precision passing contest and a challenge for quarterbacks and wide receivers that will see them try to "complete as many pass attempts as possible before time runs out".

sad

As long as it gets surprisingly good ratings (why, I do t know - I distinctly remember the last one I watched in its entirety was when OJ got the MVP in a scintillating AFC win), the NFL will not pull the plug on this worst-of-a-terrible-lot all star games ...

Start out with a $10-million pot up for grabs.

First half of play, both teams can accrue as much money as possible (e.g. FF style, yards/pts/catches/sacks/int all worth set dollar amounts)

Second half of play, all money is taken from the other side via yard and point differential. (e.g. an AFC interception would result in money transferred from the NFC bank to the AFC bank)

Money is divided evenly among the players at the end of the game.

...I'm pretty proud of myself right now, I think I just fixed the pro-bowl

How about making the NFL pro bowlers play the NHL All-Star game and visa versa? I'd watch that.

How about making the NFL Pro Bowlers actual pro bowlers by having them square off in a winner take all keggling tourney?

The NFL with this and the looking into relaxing the rules on cleats are essentially an erratic girlfriend that's realised her man has about had enough and is trying new things while screaming "PLEASE DON'T LEAVE ME!!!"

I like it.

The Pro Bowl gets better ratings than the Stanley Cup finals games. You would be the only one watching the hockey game...
