I've seen a lot of measured responses on the matter, but it's always the, "he's the worst" guys that seem crazy to me. Explain again just how bad EJ was, I'm all ears.

If EJ was under contract, do you think we could get a 6th round pick for him?

If you think he is any good, I am going to respectfully ask you to consider the possibility that as a beaten up fellow Bills Fan, your standards might be way too low. And you seem like a nice guy. I am guessing that your standards in other phases of life are quite high. ;)

I don't really think EJ is very good. I just also don't think he's terrible. I definitely wanted him to start more than 4 games into his 2-2 sophomore season. After putting up with 26+ games of Taylor, we're no better off than we would have been with a developed EJ. Maybe he would never have amounted to anything, but he was unnecessarily jostled within the organization. I am frustratingly ready to move on, but have even less expectations for Jones at the moment. Sadly the 2017 starting QB is not on our team.

I look forward to seeing Cardale sometime, maybe not next week though. EJ? Gimme a break.

Tyrod hasn't been great by any means but just settle in for losses like 30-10 for the final few weeks, if they decide to bench Taylor.

I wouldn't even be upset with cardale- it's not like it's a murderers row to finish the season and he's probably be amped up for the browns. He might have decent success if expectations are reasonable

Maybe. I think it would be more like that time Brian Brohm started a game.

It will interesting if the rumors are true that a power struggle is going on

(RR and TT)

(Whaley and his choice at QB)

Whaley DID draft C. Jones....but he also drafted EJ Manuel

If a year into the league starting a game against a winless team is is a CATASTROPHE then it's probably not going to happen anyway. If he completes 50% or more, a few chunk plays and a few firsts with his legs it's a success. As long as the offense doesn't quit there's a lot of talent around him

Not advocating but think our offensive talent paired with his freelancing would probably at least be serviceable while getting him some reps even if we lose

He never showed much improvement the more games he played. He actually seemed to regress as time went on. The one thing we may have after 26 games of Tyrod is the knowledge that neither he nor EJ is the answer.

The only reason he got the opportunities he got was because he was a first round pick. And we now realize he is probably only a first round pick because the Bills were the only team that thought he was one.

EJ could be okay over the next three games, but I truly doubt that even if he has the talent to be a starter, he's not going to show enough over the last three games. If four games in 2014 was not enough to judge him, what will another three games running out the string do?

Start Tyrod until the Bills are officially eliminated (after next week, probably). After that, start Cardale.

Yep. And it is sad. It's right back to 2013 - bring in a career mediocrity (a Kolb/Cassell/Orton), and hope that a young QB (Cardale and/or another draft pick) can get up to speed quickly enough to make it something other than a lost season. Actually, Tyrod on a renogotiated/reasonable deal could be that Kolb/Cassell/Orton guy, but I'm guessing he'd be too proud to take it, and the Bills management would just as soon put the Tyrod era behind them.

It's been fairly well established Cowher and Gruden will not coach again. Wonder if they would consider a GM gig. Then, let the new GM pick the coach. Which would you prefer? Not sure anyone is more knowledgeable about players than Gruden. Let him run the team.

And I think that's what will happen. Really, with only the slimmest of mathematical chances of making the playoffs now, the Bills should start Cardale vs. the Browns. It's the perfect situation for him to succeed. But I'd be stunned if they did it. Not because they still have playoff hopes alive. No. It's because they -- Rex and Whaley -- desperately want to beat the Browns because they know losing that one would be the final nail in their coffins. So no first game never-thrown-a-pass in the NFL Cardale next week.

I am getting tired all of the excuses that are being made for Whaley. He seems to have many defenders, but it seems like like we always get two stories and never know what the truth is. EJ is one of the best examples of this. Initially, we heard he loved the pick, scouted him, and raced to give his name for the draft. We also heard during the last coaching search that he was telling coaching candidates that they will need to work with EJ. Now we are hearing that he only was supporting Buddy's decision to draft EJ.

Time to move on with the GM and the head coach. This organization desperately needs a fresh start.

Rex is a dumpster fire. Whaley is good not great, way too many missed opportunities, opportunities that would be forgivable if we won more games, but we don't. Therefore - Whaley simply isn't good enough.

I'm sure it's a long short to happen but it's also thr most slam dunk option out there. Go get John harbaugh. Pay him whatever it takes. Make him PRESIDENT of the team and the HC. Give him 100% total control over everything. Let him pick thd GM or he can be the GM too.

Harbaugh is the best football coach on the planet not named Bill Belicheater and maybe Urban Myer. He took SF to the SB aand when he left they are instantly a 3 win team. He goes to Michigan and with a toilet bowl roster takes them to the top 5. He is a proven guarantedd success.

IF Harbaugh says no then try Myer, but he is riskier as his coaching style may not work in the NFL. Harbaighs we know does.

You mean Jim.

I'd do whatever to get John. I think he is a better coach but I'd take Jim at this point because he is a short term turnaround specialist.

Definitely no to Urban Meyer.
