San-O Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 Bills need to find all 3 positions in off-season. These number are bad (I know TT can't throw), but these group can't stay on the field and there's little reason to think this is going to get any better next season. http://www.espn.com/nfl/player/stats/_/id/16725/sammy-watkins http://www.espn.com/nfl/player/stats/_/id/15880/robert-woods http://www.espn.com/nfl/player/stats/_/id/14145/charles-clay
What a Tuel Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 There is no reason to think it won't get better. Someone will likely sign Robert Woods next year, but Sammy will be fine. I do think we need to draft a starting WR, and pick up a free agent WR though.

Actually there is. o Clay has an issue which I have seen described as "chronic". o Sammy missed 3 games last year and 8 games this year, AFTER having surgery. And still isn't right per the Bills.
fridge Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 I know TT can't throw Yeah, so why blame the receivers? When your QB is too timid to step up in the pocket and let her rip how do you expect to any receiver to have a good year statistically?

They determined it wasn't broken when they saw a specialist, but another surgery may be necessary to get rid of the pain. He will be fine next year. Stop exaggerating. As I have said many times before, Julio Jones missed the same amount of time his first 3 years, and had about the same stats as Sammy Watkins. Edited December 11, 2016 by What a Tuel

When your QB is too timid to step up in the pocket and let her rip how do you expect to any receiver to have a good year statistically? Because this group can't stay on the field. Period. And they seem to all have been playing hurt to some degree or another when they are on the field. Watkins explained what happened. You pretty certain then that all these guys will play 16 games next year? Also, Sammy is in a contract year next year I think, so you have even more reason to get another WR or 2 on this roster. Seeing as how he has played 33/44 games so far, yes I feel confident that Watkin's will play a lot next year barring some freak injury like Kelvin Benjamin's ACL tear. Sammy has the 5th year team option so he plays all the way through 2018. And we will resign him. We do need another WR but mostly because Woods will get too much as a free agent.
San-O Posted December 11, 2016 Author Posted December 11, 2016 ... and throw in Marquise "glass" Goodwin in there as # 3 WR. http://www.espn.com/nfl/player/stats/_/id/15839/marquise-goodwin Seeing a pattern here? I want the Bills to win, believe me, but this group is injury prone and has the injury history to prove it.

OK. I stand corrected, by 2 posters. That makes things a little better, but I still pick up at least 2 receivers this off-season.

Every athlete that steps on the field or ice for the Bills and Sabres seems to always get hurt. Just this year Watkins, Lawson,Shady and Ragland for the Bills and Eichel, Kane and the whole defense for the Sabres. Its unreal

You would be in a hospital bleeding from your lungs and kidneys if you took one hit from a NFL LB. He has stayed healthy other than one concussion. He will benefit from having Sammy and Robert out there today. Sammy will still be in the slot a bunch today but look for Goodwin to get a reverse and 3-4 catches today.

Well, your comments aside, Goodwin IS having a career year with 24 receptions. Let's see what happens today with all receivers on the field. Edited December 11, 2016 by San-O
