26CornerBlitz Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 (edited) @AdamSchefter NFL salary cap for 2017 projected to be $163-165 million, for now: http://es.pn/2gOgNU5 Edited December 11, 2016 by 26CornerBlitz
26CornerBlitz Posted December 11, 2016 Author Posted December 11, 2016 @mikerodak For Bills fans already looking forward to 2017, here are their 28 pending free agents after this season:
Blokestradamus Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 Even with picking up Tyrod's option, Spotrac has us with $28,336,203 in cap space (working on a $164m cap figure). So that's looking pretty accurate.

So that's looking pretty accurate. restructure kyle, release awil and graham and were in the mid 30's...redo tyrod and we could have 40 or so.
NoSaint Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 restructure kyle, release awil and graham and were in the mid 30's...redo tyrod and we could have 40 or so. Kyle will be in his final year so it's a matter of extending him really
MAJBobby Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 Gonna be a tight offseason again. Unless unload some bigger contracts
Big Turk Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 Even with picking up Tyrod's option, Spotrac has us with $28,336,203 in cap space (working on a $164m cap figure). So that's looking pretty accurate. Yeah but that's with only 37 players signed...look at how many teams have 50+ million in cap space... Cleveland with $110 million?? Are you serious?? Most of those teams have more players signed as well...Bills are going to have to work some magic to get things done, especially with so many other teams having double or triple the amount of cap space.... Tennessee and Tampa Bay could be scary next year with all that cap space and young QB's that seemingly have their teams on the right path...
Mr. WEO Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 Gonna be a tight offseason again. Unless unload some bigger contracts 30+ million is tight?
MAJBobby Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 (edited) Look at how many signed. Yes going to be tight a lot of Role Players to be signed. Might be able to fit one splash player in. However they could just say F it sign away and stay under the top 51 and deal with it in summer Edited December 11, 2016 by MAJBobby
Big Turk Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 30+ million is tight? with only 37 players signed? Yeah...it is, especially considering teams have double and triple the amount of money and can simply outbid you in free agency...
aristocrat Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 Look at how many signed. Yes going to be tight a lot of Role Palyers 5 draft picks on roster, a few role guys and yiu get to 53 quick. it's not tight lol
Blokestradamus Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 30+ million is tight? Missing a starting RT, CB, WR2, WILB, potentially FS, FB - might see money eaten up pretty quickly.
26CornerBlitz Posted December 11, 2016 Author Posted December 11, 2016 Missing a starting RT, CB, WR2, WILB, potentially FS, FB - might see money eaten up pretty quickly. Bottom line is that they need the 2017 draft to be fruitful.
MAJBobby Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 5 draft picks on roster, a few role guys and yiu get to 53 quick. it's not tight lol Ummmm gotta get to 90 not 53. And yes the top 51 count so 3 of those picks don't count against the cap. So yes you are gonna maybe see 1 Bigger name and a ton of role players signed. So yes a tight offseason unless they can unload a contract or two.
Big Turk Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 5 draft picks on roster, a few role guys and yiu get to 53 quick. it's not tight lol It IS tight because with all those teams having tons of cap space, every free agent is going to get more money, which means the cost of doing business could rise astronomically, in a way we've never seen before...
Blokestradamus Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 Bottom line is that they need the 2017 draft to be fruitful. I forgot to add punter, RB2 and primary swing IOL taking up somewhere around $5.5m in RFA tenders. Might need 3-4 UDFA guys to make the squad or guys like Albright, Valles stepping up to make Alexander surplus to requirements.
26TrapDraw Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 (edited) What kind of space does it free up if they let Gilbert walk? Edited December 11, 2016 by BeefCurtns
Blokestradamus Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 What kind of space does it free up if they let Gilbert walk? None. He's a free agent. Just a hole to fill.
San-O Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 Bottom line is that they need the 2017 draft to be fruitful. WR # 1 and WR # 2?
baskingridgebillsfan Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 If they could buy a right tackle ands fill one of the two safety spots with above average free agents that would be awesome. First figure out the qb , then Gilmore , zack , woods and Alexander.
