MDH Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 Teams have figured out our elaborate schemes. One team still hasn't: The Bills.
Dopey Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 (edited) wgr 550 just mentioned Hughes was sat down in the Steelers game as a form of discipline for arguing with Rob Ryan last week about this crap defense. Edited December 12, 2016 by Dopey

MDH Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 wgr 550 just mentioned Hughes was sat down in the Steelers game as a form of discipline for arguing with Rob Ryan last week about this crap defense. Remember in October how Rex bragged about is brother and the job he was doing with their red zone D? I haven't heard him mentioning it lately. I found an article from 2011 that had Rob lamenting that the Cowboys (where he was DC at the time) spent more time studying red zone D than anybody and he didn't understand how they were so poor.
vincec Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 (edited) Hughes and Lorax seem to have disappeared with the return of Dareus and Lawson. No idea what that has to do with anything but it's interesting. Because the team has stopped playing 8 man fronts or blitzing. They are putting more players in coverage to help the DBs and are hoping that with Dareus back they can hold up vs the run without 8 up front and pressure the QB without blitzing. This has made it easier to handle the pass rush in general, hence the "disappearance" of Hughes and Alexander. Edited December 12, 2016 by vincec
klos63 Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 So do we jettison Hughes like we did Mario after the same occurrence happened with Rex in 2015? Joke. Rex ruined a great thing on defense. Awful, awful hire that set the franchise back. this pretty much sums the whole thing up.
bobobonators Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 The entire team has disappeared. When a team goes downhill across the board: offense, defense, AND special teams, its on coaches 100%. Every coach needs to be fired. No one on this staff needs to be here anymore.
stevewin Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 wgr 550 just mentioned Hughes was sat down in the Steelers game as a form of discipline for arguing with Rob Ryan last week about this crap defense. This was mentioned in one of Gleason's articles today http://buffalonews.com/2016/12/11/bucky-gleason-rexs-phony-act-worst-fit-straight-shooting-buffalo/ Ryan was asked about Jerry Hughes, who was benched to start the game. Ryan claimed he was merely rotating players. It was true, but he conveniently left out the fact Hughes was disciplined for telling off Rob Ryan during a heated exchange last week. When asked Sunday what the dispute was about, Hughes said, “You have to ask the coach about that.” Doesn't seem like Jerry's exactly buying into what the coaches are selling
26CornerBlitz Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 @MatthewFairburn Rex Ryan on Jerry Hughes Sunday: "I would think if you go back and look he played just as much as anybody." Played season-low 40% of snaps. @MatthewFairburn Jerry Hughes' previous season low was 60-percent of snaps. Shaq Lawson played 61 percent. Lorenzo Alexander played 72 percent.
