H2o Posted December 9, 2016 Posted December 9, 2016 (edited) Would he be a fit for the offense? Lions released TE Brandon Pettigrew. Pettigrew is believed to be healthy, but the Lions had washed their hands of him. He's now available to the highest bidder. A productive receiving tight end at Oklahoma State, Pettigrew was the 20th overall pick in the 2009 draft. He never developed into anything more than a blocking tight end in six years with Detroit. http://www.rotoworld.com/playernews/nfl/football-player-news/?ls=roto:nfl:gnav Edited December 9, 2016 by H2o
BigBuff423 Posted December 9, 2016 Posted December 9, 2016 Especially given his areas of strength, I'd say absolutely.
K D Posted December 9, 2016 Posted December 9, 2016 Our only other option played QB a few months ago so I'd say this would be an upgrade
YoloinOhio Posted December 9, 2016 Posted December 9, 2016 Why have they "washed their hands of him"? Anyone follow the Lions? I actually think O'Leary has improved as a blocker and overall.
BADOLBILZ Posted December 9, 2016 Posted December 9, 2016 Would he be a fit for the offense? Pettigrew was once a beast.
YoloinOhio Posted December 9, 2016 Posted December 9, 2016 If he can't succeed with Stafford who is having an MVP season... I like the blocking part, he would be helpful there. But I'm good with O'Leary from that standpoint.

I guess because he never worked out the way they envisioned in Detroit along with the fact they have Ebron now. They must be comfortable with the roster to outright release him.
26CornerBlitz Posted December 9, 2016 Posted December 9, 2016 Wouldn't mind giving him a look. Rex did say that it's possible for Logan Thomas to see game action before this season is in the books.

BigBuff423 Posted December 9, 2016 Posted December 9, 2016 Considering the options behind Clay and O'Leary, I don't know that Pettigrew couldn't be much better based on the situation.
jumbalaya Posted December 9, 2016 Posted December 9, 2016 If you have a QB that can't throw better get a blocking TE
KRT88 Posted December 9, 2016 Posted December 9, 2016 If you have a QB that can't throw better get a blocking TE TT can throw, he just appears unable to see when players are open or will be open. One read QB don't make for good offensives
John from Riverside Posted December 9, 2016 Posted December 9, 2016 I have always liked him but I really want to see what we have in our QB turned TE now.
Bleeding Bills Blue Posted December 9, 2016 Posted December 9, 2016 I think we'd have to drop Logan Thomas. I think they brought him in so they could wait and see, not to drop him 2 weeks later.
White Linen Posted December 9, 2016 Posted December 9, 2016 I think we'd have to drop Logan Thomas. I think they brought him in so they could wait and see, not to drop him 2 weeks later. I thought Yolo said we have an open roster spot.
BADOLBILZ Posted December 9, 2016 Posted December 9, 2016 I think we'd have to drop Logan Thomas. I think they brought him in so they could wait and see, not to drop him 2 weeks later. Thomas is an inactive and the Bills have 6 of those every week......a few of those spots can be maintained late in the season as virtual practice squad players but guys that are secured by an NFL contract. So I don't think Thomas would be a limiting factor. Pettigrew would be brought in to play now. The issue would probably be at the expense of depth at what position on the active gameday roster.
DallasMac Posted December 9, 2016 Posted December 9, 2016 I think we'd have to drop Logan Thomas. I think they brought him in so they could wait and see, not to drop him 2 weeks later. Don't they have to keep him on the active roster for at least 4 weeks? Can't remember exactly.
