26CornerBlitz Posted December 9, 2016 Posted December 9, 2016 12-9: DOUG WHALEY ON WGR (15:09) #Bills GM Doug Whaley is coming up next! Tune in:Whaley - we have to play 60 minutes. Whatever happened in Oakland shows that cliche is out there for a reason. #BillsWhaley - The loss against Oakland was a good learning experience for this team. It taught us that we need to finish games #BillsWhaley - I believe it's been the lack of focus and consistency is why we're 6-6. #BillsWhaley - We have shown we can play against some of the best in the NFL, but we have to play a full 60 minutes. #BillsWhaley - Tyrod has done some things really good to get us to 6 wins, but he has some things he would like to do over #BillsWhaley - I want Tyrod to keep improving and eliminate the plays that he'd like to have back in the past games. #BillsWhaley - we all flat-lined. I wouldn't put it on just Tyrod, I'd put it on the entire franchise #BillsWhaley - we'll sit down with the coaches and management after the season and then make a decision on Tyrod's future #BillsWhaley - Cardale has some ways to go in his development, but we've been highly encouraged his progression so far #BillsWhaley - Cardale's arm and the command of his arm is impressive. #BillsWhaley - unless something unexpected happened, I wouldn't expect Cardale to get any playing time this season #Bills Whaley - Roethlisberger never gives up on a play, and he thinks every play should be a banquet. He's one of the best in the business #Bills @MatthewFairburn Here's everything Bills GM Doug Whaley had to say about Tyrod Taylor and the upcoming contract decision: http://trib.al/Q8Xjlwi
BringBackOrton Posted December 9, 2016 Posted December 9, 2016 This team has experienced "learning" like the Oakland game for years. Will they ever get the lesson?
MAJBobby Posted December 9, 2016 Posted December 9, 2016 They are going to pick up the option. Will never learn.
Bleeding Bills Blue Posted December 9, 2016 Posted December 9, 2016 Makes sense... focus on the last 4 games to see what you have in Tyrod. Cardale will probably get a start if Tyrod gets hurt.
eball Posted December 9, 2016 Posted December 9, 2016 "Lack of focus and consistency" -- that's a direct indictment of the coaching staff. Rex needs to go.
Big Gun Posted December 9, 2016 Posted December 9, 2016 (edited) Makes sense... focus on the last 4 games to see what you have in Tyrod. Cardale will probably get a start if Tyrod gets hurt. Already know what you have in Tyrod, zebras don't change their stripes. These last four games aren't going to override the overall body of work, just going to add to it, and i'm pretty sure they have a good feeling which way they are leaning regardless of the last 4 games. Jerry Christ Posted December 9, 2016 Posted December 9, 2016 we are totally screwed until .......rex, russ, and doug are all gone which would get rid of these overpaid players.
baskingridgebillsfan Posted December 9, 2016 Posted December 9, 2016 I got the impression Taylor was far from certain to be back. The full throttle hype machine on Cardelle Jones is the first indicator. Then you get a less full throat support from the coach and gm. My guess if Taylor lays an egg Sunday his time in Buffalo is over. Why not play Ej or Cardelle at Home against Cleveland.
Helpmenow Posted December 9, 2016 Posted December 9, 2016 Same old rhetoric from the management over there. Keep buying our product fans. Your the best in the NFL, wink wink

I agree they know tyrod is their only hope of having at least a five hundred season so I think they just want to possibly pile up some wins to give the illusion of a decent season but I believe now is the time to go in the tank get a better draft instead of the same spot year after year at least do that for the fans we will certainly understand

He thinks the players need to learn to finish games. How do you learn that? Is he going to give a class? He says they have to play for 60 minutes. What's going on now? They play football for 40 minutes and video games for the other 20? It's like he's saying the players he's acquired are capable of so much more but they haven't been coached and energized by the coaches sufficiently. In other words, the mediocrity is Rex's fault, not Doug's. I'm not defending Rex but I think the reason we don't finish games - and play inconsistently - is because we're just not that good. Injuries are part of this, too. The players we're lining up aren't as good as the players the better teams line up against us. So eventually there's a breakdown. We didn't lose to Oakland because of some psychological weakness. We lost because they have better players (especially at the QB position). Doug has got to take some accountability. He hasn't yet acquired enough talent for this team to make the playoffs. Edited December 9, 2016 by hondo in seattle
H2o Posted December 9, 2016 Posted December 9, 2016 I think if Tyrod closes out strong and we finish 10-6 the decision will be to keep him. But if he struggles and we land at 8-8 again, I think they will cut ties and look to do something different.

Cardale will probably get a start if Tyrod gets hurt.I hope we will all 4 games with Tyrod but I wonder if he will suddenly develop an "injury" after another loss or two and not be able to play *cough *cough.

Then you get a less full throat support from the coach and gm. My guess if Taylor lays an egg Sunday his time in Buffalo is over. Why not play Ej or Cardelle at Home against Cleveland. This is all negotiation. My guess is that the Bills actually want Tyrod back, but for less than the $27.5 mil stipulated in the contract right now. So they want him to think that the Bills think he's expendable - force him to look at his options which probably aren't great.
mannc Posted December 9, 2016 Posted December 9, 2016 I agree they know tyrod is their only hope of having at least a five hundred season so I think they just want to possibly pile up some wins to give the illusion of a decent seasonThat's exactly what's happening. Push for .500 so everyone's jobs are safe and the Bills can roll out the same mediocrity again next year, instead of giving Cardale some real NFL experience (while maybe improving our draft position). TT will play out the string, even if we lose to Pittsburgh.

If Tyrod ever needed to put together a consistent stretch in his life it is over the next 4 games. On a side note...... I wonder if they have had the sit down with Tyrod that these next few games will make or break his Buffalo career?

26CornerBlitz Posted December 9, 2016 Author Posted December 9, 2016 Kevin Trudeau, Jordan Belfort, Doug Whaley, and Russ Brandon. Four of the great con artists of all time. Are they really though? Or are a lot of Bills fans just so gullible and thirsty for football they believe just about anything they hear from OBD? How about neither of these being accurate? Yep!
26CornerBlitz Posted December 9, 2016 Author Posted December 9, 2016 @JoeBuscaglia The lack of an endorsement for Tyrod Taylor by #Bills GM Doug Whaley was deafening. My thoughts on his comments: https://t.co/d1E68J48Jl
