Rex concerned about Kyle’s availability

DT Kyle Williams did not practice Friday due to back problems and is questionable for Sunday’s game. Head coach Rex Ryan admits the defense may not have their veteran leader this weekend.

“I’m concerned. I think it was last night it locked up on him,” said Ryan. “We’ll have to see how that goes, but that’s obviously a big concern.”

If Williams cannot go it’s likely that Jerel Worthy steps in for him on run downs and Leger Douzable on pass downs.

OUT
LB Lerentee McCray – concussion

QUESTIONABLE
DT Kyle Williams – back
WR Robert Woods – knee
WR Sammy Watkins – foot
TE Charles Clay – knee
OT Cordy Glenn – back
LB Brandon Spikes – illness

Thursday's game doesn't impact our path to the playoffs, but the Steelers game is obviously a big key.

10-6 likely gets us in (11-5 Broncos, or 10-6 Fish AND 10-6 Broncos could keep us out).

A 9-7 path after a loss to the Steelers is actually not that impossible, but more likely to tease us and keep hopes alive towards week 17 then actually get us in.

In either case we are actually rooting for the Patriots a lot over the next few weeks, starting on Sunday...so too bad about Gronk in the end.

So let's just beat the Steelers for the heck of it and take it from there.

Thursday's game ensured that KC and OAK both have playoff spots and limited our possible slots to 1 instead of 2. It definitely had an impact.

Do any of the teams charging toward a top-5 pick pull off an upset this week? Week 14 picks: http://www.si.com/nfl/2016/12/09/nfl-picks-week-14-predictions-lines-spread?xid=socialflow_twitter_si

The Bills didn’t get long to lick their wounds from a defensive meltdown at Oakland. The Steelers’ offense has averaged 380 yards over its past four games and is resembling the explosive group everyone anticipated it being back in September. The newest key: TE Ladarius Green, who caught six of 11 passes thrown his way last week for 110 yards and a score. Ben Roethlisberger could use him Sunday. His stats have been much worse on the road compared to at home—he has an 81.9 QB rating and a 233 yards-per-game average as a visitor; he’s at 119.0 and 327, respectively, at home. Buffalo’s offense remains ranked No. 1 on the ground (161 ypg and 23 rushing TDs). And when the Steelers lose, it’s usually because they cannot control the line. Their opponents averaged 132.8 yards rushing in their five losses.

Watchability index: 8. The Bills have to win out if they want to end their playoff drought. They’ll need a better effort than anything they’ve shown the past two months.
