Everyone likes to harp on Tyrod Taylor and the passing game even though the Bills are 5th in scoring and are averaging 25 points a game. The #1 problem with the team are the safeties. Yes the safeties have one INT, no big plays, Big hits or game changing plays. And this on a Rex Ryan defense with Ed Reed as a secondary coach. Should be top priority this off season. Need a sheriff in secondary.

I'm pretty sure there has been a bunch of talk on here about the safeties.

No one notices the safeties? It's the biggest complaint on D since AW got hurt. Like to the point of beating a dead horse (but I'll keep doing it until Meeks is no longer on the field)

Some of us have been bemoaning safety play since Week 3 2015 (first time AW went down).

DW's biggest offseason miss was not doing more to address the glaring need there.

Our safeties should make receivers fear catching the ball in the middle. Remember Gronkowski getting popped by Earl Thomas? Yeah; those are the kinds of hits we need to be delivering.

The safeties play like a dead horse.

Counting on development from Meeks and Duke turned out to be a fruitless investment and Blanton was a washout. BTW !@#$ Jarvis Landry!!!

Meeks had a sure interception on the TD pass in the end zone and went behind the receiver. He might inherit the earth but he messes up a lot on the field.

Great play by the WR as well to flatten the route. Horrible recognition by Meeks that the route was flattened

It's not true that no one notices the rotten safety play. People have talked about it all year, but at this point we're beating a dead horse. The front seven of the D is really playing well, the CBs are so-so, but the safeties are so bad the Bills can't get off the field on third down, if the other team even needs to get to third down. I think the biggest reason Gilmore and Darby have struggled at times is that they can't count on the safeties being where they're supposed to. And as other posters have mentioned, our guys are not big hitters. There's no fear by WRs about going across the field against our guys.

That's a hole lot of truth right there.
