11-28: Eric Wood and Rex Ryan Media Sessions

11-28: ERIC WOOD ON WGR (21:08)

Wood- "Refs kind of nit-pick the secondary a lot harder earlier in games than they do later in games."

Wood- "It wasn't a clean game, so you can say it was ugly in that sense, but we were a 7 point favorite, and we won by 7 points."

Wood- "We made enough plays to win, and that's what we should've done."

Wood- "We like to stay balanced offensively, and that's what we're striving to do."

Wood- "Sammy is an elite player in this league. 25 plays and he takes the top off the defense on that one. That's a game changing play."

Wood- "He's such a talented player. If he could catch some breaks and stay healthy. I think he could go down as one of the all time greats."

Wood- "I didn't even start as a junior in high school at tight end."

Wood- "I didn't even get a scholarship until after my senior year."

Wood- "You gotta stop Khalil Mack. We got our hands full. It's a big time game in December."

Wood-"You're gonna have to put up points. They're a really good offense. I don't think it'll be a shootout but it'll be a hard fought game."

 

 

Rex Ryan: "We Are Going to Give Them Everything" (18:43)

HC Rex Ryan addressed the media topics include; eliminating red zone mistakes on defense, being a resilient team, and his early thoughts on the Oakland Raiders.

 

Rex: "After looking at the tape I feel obviously happy with the results. We know it wasn't perfect by any stretch"

Rex says "I was disappointed in our (pass) protection."

Darby still in concussion protocol. Dareus has abdominal strain. Med staff continues to evaluate him.

Sammy Watkins and LeSean McCoy both came through the game "fine, clear with no issues."

"We can pretend not having Dareus doesn't make a difference, but this just in, it makes a huge difference." -- Rex

Rex goes with his dad's quote on Cris Carter referring to Justin Hunter: "All he does is catch touchdowns." Nice.

Seymour could move outside if Darby can't play at Oakland. Corey White could also play there.

When informed that the last time the Bills won in Oakland was 50 years ago, Rex said, "Wooo, talk about a drought."

Rex: "I haven't seen that nightmare yet," referring to Khalil Mack's performance Sunday. "A couple our assistants were talking about it."

 

11-28 REX RYAN ON WGR (11:29)

Rex- "We thought we'd be more effective running the ball. They did a good job, sometimes put almost 9 guys in the box."

Rex- "That was 100% Shady right there. It's just him. He made 2 guys miss in the hole, then he out ran everybody."

Rex- "McCoy and Sammy both came out of the game, and there were no issues there."

Rex- "They're #1 in the league with the fewest sacks given up. I think it'll be important to have our offense sustain drives."

Rex on Raiders- "That offensive line is massive, there's probably more athletic groups out there, but these guys can maul ya."

Rex- "The first thing you think of is Al Davis. A legend in the NFL. There's only one Al Davis. He'd be proud of this football team."

Rex on Eichel's return- "Oh my goodness. Thank goodness. Having that guy out there is such a difference maker. I can't wait."
