The NFL must laugh its collective ass off at us. Carrying a 2nd kicker is a complete joke. And why? To protect a kicker who misses FG's and XP's? Hopefully we get a real kicker in the off-season. Until then, we have to hope Carp doesn't cost us another game.

Yep. I'm sure it's the second kicker that's making the league laugh at us ;)

Predictions (ESPN Insider)

Man and metric agree: Raiders over Bills

Neither of our NFL Nation reporters expects a blowout, but both sided with Oakland. ESPN's Football Power Index concurs, pegging the Raiders as approximately 3-2 favorites at home.

BILLS AT RAIDERS

Buffalo Bills

The Raiders are modest three-point favorites for this game, which is surprising given the potential mismatch between the Raiders' fourth-ranked passing offense and a shaky Bills secondary that is likely to be without starting cornerback Ronald Darby. The Raiders complete 52.6 percent of passes that travel at least 20 yards in the air; odds are that Amari Cooper or Michael Crabtree snagging a deep ball against rookie cornerback Kevon Seymour, who's expected to start in Darby's place, is the difference in Sunday's game. Raiders 24, Bills 17 -- Mike Rodak

Oakland Raiders

The Raiders would be wise to ward off the emotional letdown game of overlooking the Bills in favor of a short week and an AFC West showdown in Kansas City the following Thursday. Besides, Buffalo has has the No. 1-ranked rushing game in the NFL and Oakland is 26th against the run. But as several Raiders players have said this week, coach Jack Del Rio will not allow the team to overlook any opponent. Injuries may be a concern for Oakland, though as long as Derek Carr's pinkie cooperates, the Raiders should prevail. Raiders 31, Bills 27 -- Paul Gutierrez

I think the Bills have a good shot in this game if they are able to dictate the tempo with the run game.

KC beat Oakland 26-10 in October by holding the ball for almost 37 minutes. They had just over 400 yards of offense: roughly 175 rushing and 225 passing. In other words, they did what the Bills try to do each and every week.

As long as they don't dig themselves an early home, this is a winnable game. The Bills strengths matchup well with the Raiders weaknesses. Don't let them turn it into a shootout. Keep their offense off the field, churn it out on offense and wear their already bad defense down.

In order to make the formula work the Bills have to convert 3rd downs to keep the chains moving. Tyrod has to be sharp like he was against Seattle. A game of big plays mixed in with too many 3 and outs will not work in this game. Go Bills!

That's pretty close to what the Bills need...just hopefully without the chunk plays that allowed Seattle to score 31 points. I just looked back at the stats for that game and the Bills had the ball for 40:17 and only allowed 278 yards. You should NEVER lose a game where you under 300 yards, or where the opposing team has the ball for only 1/3 of the time. But they also gave Seattle 115 penalty yards.

Seattle might have been the best game if Tyrod's career thus far, and it might be asking a lot to see it again today. The Bills offense needs to play similar to that with the long, sustained drives, but needs a much better defensive performance.

The problem with the defense in that game was the 1st half as seems to be the recent trend with them. If they wait until the 2nd half to get it together the game might already be decided.

Is clay officially out?

No word yet that I've seen.

Is clay officially out?

I'd assume we will know soon. Flight time from Buffalo to Oakland direct (as you would assume would be the case via Air Pegula) is approximately 5 hours.

[bN] Blitz: Everything you need to know for #Bills-#Raiders, plus five things I'll be watching for this afternoon: https://t.co/NNoaeIG34G

Here are five things to watch for against the Raiders:

1 Can Marcell Dareus be a game wrecker?

2 Who will be available at wide receiver?

3. How does Jordan Mills do against Khalil Mack?

4. Can Nick O'Leary step up?

5. How does Kevon Seymour hold up on the outside?

Good article by Carucci today in Buffalo News on how Oakland emerged from their playoff drought. It really puts the Bills' FO to shame and - without even mentioning him - puts a spotlight on Whaley's poor sense of how to build a team that sustains success.

i refuse to click on BN articles , but hindsight is always 20/20. Raiders have a stud QB, Billsdo not...end of story. Bills O-Line is strong, Bills D is arguably better than the Raiders, they have better HEALTHY receivers, we have a superstar difference maker at RB...but they have a SUPERIOR QB.

I could write an article saying how smart they are...but it's really all about the QB .

and yes, they have a better coach with some balls..so there's that.

3 reasons #GoBills win 3rd straight vs #RaiderNation today #BUFvsOAK

https://t.co/nkm4FavA07

1) Oakland can’t defend the run

2) Oakland gives up a ton of big plays

3) David Carr rarely pressured but struggles when he is

Too bad that :

1) Bills can't make big plays in the passing game

2) Bills secondary can't match up with Raiders WRs and can't make plays on the ball

As currently constructed , with TT at QB the Bills will not win this game.
