CountDorkula Posted November 28, 2016 Posted November 28, 2016 (edited) based on the identify I feel we have been sold as a bills team......if we score more then 14 points we should be winning games JFH, you cannot be serious. 14 points a game. So you want the defense to hold a team to under 14 points a game on average? Totally doable, I mean its been done 1 time since 2008 when Pittsburgh allowed 13.9 points per game. Add - 4 times since 2002. FOUR. It just does not happen. Totally realistic view point. Edited November 28, 2016 by CountDorkula
dave mcbride Posted November 28, 2016 Posted November 28, 2016 (edited) No he wasn't 3 TGTs 3 catches 80 yards. Just check the ESPN Box Score Dude--come on. Please don't assume away the big interference play on their winning drive. Arguing that that wasn't a "target" is classic sophistry.PI doesn't count as a play, so it doesn't count as a target. But in the context of this thread, it damn well should. It was a very big play. 26CornerBlitz Posted November 28, 2016 Posted November 28, 2016 @SalSports Sammy Watkins played 25 of 55 offensive snaps yesterday for the Bills (45%).
MAJBobby Posted November 28, 2016 Posted November 28, 2016 Full disclosure I like TT. You people, yes you people who say TT doesnt scan the field and is a one read QB don't know what the hell you are talking about. I will admit he has happy feet. He is not tall. Both he and Wilson do the same thing. They bounce in the pocket instead of standing tall like Brady et al. TT and Wilson move to make plays throwing the ball. I wish they would call more designed runs for TT. I agree he often doesnt make the risk/reward throw. That makes his comp % and # of INT artificially good. I want to see him take more shots downfield. Hopefully with Sammy back it will open up the middle more. And yes he throws to the middle of the field. He is just as inaccurate there as he is on the outside. One development I would like to see is the back shoulder 16 yard throw. It should be an easy competion two or three times a game. Don't know if A. Lynn doesn't call it or if TT just is afraid to make that throw. Stats and his passing chart show he doesn't throw the middle of the field though. Well not 100 percent true he does just under 10 yards. 11 yards and deeper are ignored by him. Dude--come on. Please don't assume away the big interference play on their winning drive. Arguing that that wasn't a "target" is classic sophistry. But in the context of this thread, it damn well should. It was a very big play. Were did I assume away anything. PI are not logged at targets because it is not a play according to stat book. But ok he has 4 TGTs fine are you happy
thebandit27 Posted November 28, 2016 Posted November 28, 2016 @SalSports Sammy Watkins played 25 of 55 offensive snaps yesterday for the Bills (45%). If even half of those were pass plays, then he was targeted on 4 of 12 pass attempts...not enough. We have a guy that can rarely be covered by one human--the ball should go his way as often as possible.

Don't worry Count he is stuck in 1970s football because that is where our offense is

Against an opponent begging the QB to throw by stacking the box and playing a lot of single-high.
The Poojer Posted November 28, 2016 Posted November 28, 2016 if half of them were pass plays wouldn't that be 4 targets in 9 plays not 12, didn't TT only attempt 18 total? apuszczalowski Posted November 28, 2016 Posted November 28, 2016 21 points allowed is bad now? What, is this D supposed to be an all time great D that never allows teams to score in the 20s? 21 points is about average, I'd love for them to shut teams down but 21 points isn't that bad. well they said Rex's record when the defence give up 20+ points in a game is 9-40 something, so yeah, I would expect them to not give up over 20 since that's also supposed to be his specialty. They also couldn't stop them on 3rd and longs, and couldn't stop them after the offence would score, and all this was against the Jaguars offence. You might have a point if this was against a more offensively competent team, but this was the jaguars offence.

That is what happens when your philosophy is Run the Ball and play defense sometimes

Yet in his first game back he is supposed to carry an offence on his back and be the target on every play? Give it a few weeks of him being back healthy if he isn't getting targeted more
The Poojer Posted November 28, 2016 Posted November 28, 2016 OK, i was looking at different # of play stats. I see anywhere from 47 to 53 to 55, still, it was his first game back after 2 months, plus we don't know how many plays were called targeting SW and were checked off because the read didn't look good, catches and throw to's don't necessarily equal plays he was the primary initial target on Watkins was on the field for 25 snaps; half of that would be 12.5

Give it a few weeks of him being back healthy if he isn't getting targeted more Well, I don't remember saying that he should carry the offense or be the target on every play. I did, however, say that he was running open multiple times and Taylor simply didn't see him. If he's healthy enough to be running a pass pattern on offense, he should be the primary read. There were plenty of missed opportunities out there again.
YoloinOhio Posted November 28, 2016 Posted November 28, 2016 (edited) He only played 25 snaps... and was actually targeted 4 times due to the DPI. TT also only threw the ball 18 times. not surprised at all with the number of targets. I'm sure he's always open though which bodes well assuming TT decides to throw it in the coming weeks. I promise you that Eli doesn't do that with Beckham.
26CornerBlitz Posted November 28, 2016 Posted November 28, 2016 @Cover1Bills Sammy drives up field then slightly turns route towards sideline & out of JR's peripheral. Makes Ramsey think fade, SW drives back to ball. https://twitter.com/i/videos/tweet/803249274897108992
Bleeding Bills Blue Posted November 28, 2016 Posted November 28, 2016 Is this the part where we remember TT standing in the pocket all day staring at wide open receivers all over the field then scrambling for 1.5 yards? -1.5 yards
T master Posted November 28, 2016 Posted November 28, 2016 Quite the offensive game plan. You have your best player back and Bill looked at him 3 times all day (and once back to back). This is pathetic.... Yes it is the old "You have a Ferrari but only take it out in the 25mph school zone. Conversely they did win the game, but yet again a struggle and little in the way of offense as Jacksonville knew what the Bills were running every play. Let's see been on IR for the last 8 weeks with a broken foot , 1st round pick & a huge weapon, 1st game back let's just throw him in & not pay any attention to how his injured foot might react let's just blow it out in his 1st game ... Makes great sense !!
