Maury Ballstein Posted November 30, 2016 Posted November 30, 2016 Fins look solid. Tannenhill looks like a decisive qb with some mojo.
Cleveland Rocks? Posted November 30, 2016 Posted November 30, 2016 (edited) Miami nearly lost to SF at home and barely beat Jared Goff in his first ever game. Not impressed, they will lose to any half decent team such as Ravens, and just get a worse draft pick as a result of their little win streak. Their offense is good but their defense sucks and wait until they need to play in any kind of weather in December, their offense will suck too. Edited November 30, 2016 by Cleveland Rocks?
hondo in seattle Posted November 30, 2016 Posted November 30, 2016 (edited) Bills offense are a top 5 scoring unit and and people still wanna pretend like we don't have major problems on defense The Bills have gone 6-3 since ALynn replaced Roman. The team has been playing well with Rex running the D and Lynn running the O. But, yeah, they would win even more games if the D was ranked higher than it's current ranking at #10. And, for the record, the Bills are 8th in the NFL in scoring. Not top 5 as asserted but still very good. But our offense is also 18th (about average) in yards per game and 27th (way below average) in play runs. Exaggerating a bit, this means when the Bills O isn't scoring, it's going 3 and out. Or saying it another way, we're losing the battle of field position. Those 3 and outs and that field position is adding stress on the D. The Bills D is 10th in yards per game and 11th in yards per play - both very good stats. But we're only 19th (about average) in points allowed because of field position issues. Certainly we all want the D (and O) to be better. But calling Rex "lost" or saying we have "major problems" on defense just doesn't fit the facts. http://www.nfl.com/stats/categorystats?tabSeq=2&season=2016&seasonType=REG&offensiveStatisticCategory=GAME_STATS&role=TM&d-447263-n=1&d-447263-o=2&d-447263-p=1&conference=ALL&d-447263-s=TOTAL_POINTS_SCORED Edited November 30, 2016 by hondo in seattle
Nihilarian Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 Don't look now but the 2016 Buffalo Bills defense is currently ranked 18th! They allowed a franchise-worst record 236 rushing yards to Bell and that was also a franchise best for the Steelers! Shades of Dave Wannstedt..hey, the Bills should have just fired Gailey and hired Dave to get this kind of success. The Bills are 28th against the run and 9th against the pass. Even Mike Pettine was better.
The Frankish Reich Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 AW is very good and Jonathan Meeks is very bad. It isn't just that Aaron Williams is a good NFL player, it's that the guys behind him couldn't play in the CFL. The gap between Williams to Blanton/Meeks is a chasm. Ihedigbo looked like he had a pulse so Maybe he is an upgrade. That has really hurt the defense though. Two years running Whaley has signed guys off the street - Rambo and Ihedigbo - because the in-house options were so bad. Keeping Meeks over Duke at first seemed odd since they appeared to think that Duke was the better player. The. I realized it was simply this: while Meeks had done nothing to show he belongs, Duke had affirmatively proved that he is not an NFL caliber safety. Meeks now joins him in that club. Cockrell is not great by any means but he's the only safety we've drafted recently who actually belongs out there. Unfortunately he's out there for someone else's team. The draft failures catch up with you fast, and that's what we're seeing now.
