Yup. He was also nailed for DUI, which is what got him booted from the Bills.

And he's making a pittance. The Cheaters can cut him with almost no repercussions. You know, to "send a message."

It was NOT only reason for being booted by Bills. After signing a multi-year contract with a nice signing bonus he decided to not go to preseason events ("working out at home") and then showed up at training camp way over weight and was in danger of being cut when he had DUI. Wondering if munchies from MJ brownies is reason why he showed up in camp so out of shape since he did not have a pregnant girl friend excuse.

The Buffalo Bills signed defensive tackle Alan Branch to a three-year extension last December, but he appears to be on the roster bubble as the preseason winds down. Branch skipped voluntary OTAs and then failed the conditioning test to begin training camp. He has played sparingly in the preseason, lining up late in the game alongside much younger players.

NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Friday that the deal is worth $8.5 million and includes a $3.1 million signing bonus and $875,000 in guaranteed money, per a person who has seen the deal.

The contract includes various incentives: a $250,000 roster bonus for each year he's on the team, $100,000 in workout bonuses, $250,000 in snap incentives (55 percent of the snaps) and $100,000 for each Pro Bowl made.

Don't like the rules imposed by your employer? You are free to find a different employer.

yep

I talked to my employer. It gets hot when I leave my office in the summer. I asked for relaxed rules on wearing pants and just having boxers on...

this is a football topic ya dope!

He is a moron. A million dollar contract. And millions on the line. And you already struck out once and lost $ how many times can you be stupid and get lucky? This guy being on a roster right now is the luckiest guy around. And I am sure he is a moron and will light up again soon

In case you don't get it... he is being paid millions to play football and not do drugs. If youbworked for a company paying millions to you a year... and all they asked was font smoke? Would you still smoke?

Guys get caught so often. They must have a way that makes them think they can get around it and it works more often then not. It's the only explanation.

While that is true, anyone with a functioning brain can see the the irony with the league taking a hard stance on a safer alternative than the myriad of dangerous pain killers that are dolled out. Yeah, player safety!

the response for this is not for this thread. But, no, weed is not safe so therefore weed is not a safer option.

You're saying jumping in traffic is safer than standing in front of a train

there are ways. There are meds you can take that mask it and hide it. There are a ton. They're just not fulproof

can we just talk about Branch?

We have rehashed this many times over.

and yes marijuana derivatives are much healthier option. No one has died from a mary jane overdose. Actually no one has died from anything associated with Cannabis. Worst case is they take extra naps.

And Branch is an Idiot. plain and simple

I guess you'd rather he was driving around under the influence of powerful prescription opioids. Alcohol is naturally occurring; just try leaving a vat of apple cider alone in the dark for a few months. It is a healing substance that has been used for literally millennia as an anesthetic. Medical alcohol should be protected by the NFL. Hell, it should be celebrated, not just protected.

in moderation nothing is dangerous. Remember, we are talking about legalities not a debate on what should or shouldnt be legal. Because you wanna open that box, smoking a ton of pot will always be a good thing...

Anyway, your faux pot knowledge...

next youre going to remind us that canibis oil kills cancer cells.

Again, all of this propaganda by the pro potties. Castor oil, wisteria oil, and many organic oils kill cancer cells.

what about the girl that was killed when the guy was driving with marijuana in his system? He hadn't smoked in 2-3 hours, yet, studies show his reflexes were slowed, as with all residual effects of strong marijuana.

Again, marijuana is ridiculous. All of these protests and weed activists only weaken the argument

I want weed legalize. That's what ya don't realize. I guess I'm antiquated. I really dont think you know any bit of my annoyance with this whole "pot is amazing" shiz. Pot heads cry about how natural and organic it is. Aspirin is organic. Its willow tree bark. That's just one tiny bit of information I feel like typing of the millions of remedies of natural plants that arent weed. And if younwant a high I could take you to Lowe's and get you so damn high you'd never smoke weed again. And it's be a fraction of the price with just 2-3 plants.

However, I want penalties for driving while high or drunk to be 10 times higher. Employers able to ban the substance on campus. Able to perform drug tests, etc.

I suppose you can toss that random item out there.

Of course maryjuana relaxes the muscles . No one should drive with it in their system. But I thought we were talking about medical use and not defending Alan for being an idiot.

I do not smoke or ingest. Lets be clear about that. I just drink alot. and when i say alot, i mean some. and when i say some, i mean sometimes.

see I have degenerative discs in my back. I have arthritis in my spine form an injury never treated. Tough guy, yea sure i was. Till i could not work.

since we are off track about Branch.

I take two controlled substances daily. every day. I do not like them. and i am still in lotsa pain

But i have to work.

But if i stop taking them i would have to get into detox. Pot aint like that.

You do not know what you dont know Kid.

I love when the pot heads call it cannabis instead of marijuana, pot or dope. Another strange attempt at guilt avoidance.

That article speaks volumes. Even that pain specialist's study reveals that patients who smoke weed still use narcotics, just less. It is very clear that weed as a replacement for opioids and antiinflammatories is way way out of the mainstream at pain treatment centers in 2016.
