Captain Checkdown: Part Two

Recommended Posts

I don't think I ever used the words good. I think I would say he has potential and hasn't stopped improving. I would say at this point He is the 20th ranked QB in my opinion. But a lot of posters act like he is #32 and that's not the case and then some act like he is top 10 and that is not the case either. I'm sorry if your offended by the fact that I trust Rex Ryan, Whaley and the other professionals more the take of posters on this board. They are aware of his current deficiencies and so am I and I do wonder if he will be able to overcome the fact that he is vertically challenged, but once again he is not as bad as some make him out to be and not as good as others do. Because of the contract he recieved before we ended up in a bad position and had to extend him.

No one is saying they know more about the X's and O's of the game more than our coaches (with the exception of a very few on this board who can spout off schemes, coverages, etc.), but I will say this: many of us here were spot on with the evaluation of certain players like Maybin, Fitz, TJ Graham, EJ and others well before they were released or demoted by the team. The guys who draft/acquire these players never want to be criticized or held accountable. That's the beauty of this board...it's a system of checks and balances. So when we now talk about Tyrod having limitations, it hurts me to think we still haven't found our QB for years...but reality is setting in. Even if he beats the Jags and throws for 200 yds (a huuuge game for him), I will still have this opinion. We were supposed to see big strides in his game this year according to Whaley and Rex...we have seen two strides forward and 1 1/2 strides back.

fair enough but you do admit he is better this year than last just not progressing as fast as you would like. I posted the stats of Drew Brees first 2 years as a starter in another topic they were not very impressive. I think Tyrod is still learning how to ovecome his lack of height which Brees had to do.

I agree with this. It's like watching your vegetable garden grow...it starts out very slow and, if there is the proper amount of nurturing, rain, sunlight and warmth, you see rapid development. In our case, Taylor's growth has been stunted by a drought, darkness and possibly bad seeds. Let's hope we have more cooperative growing conditions for the balance of the season.

Cherry picking Brees to fit your narrative, ok whatever. Know that Brees didn't have the luxury of 4 years of tutelage in a Super Bowl winning QB and coach not to mention 4 years of OTAs, training camps, preseason games, playoff games and the week to week preparation of running scout teams, 4 years of this stuff not zero or one like Brees. But whatever keep making excuses for TT because you know a lot about football, amiright!

You have absolutely no business calling a poster out on cherry picking........

Actually....your right

You actually never come forward with ANYTHING of substance much less cherry picking stats......just a bunch of bla bla bla

Getting emo over TT again and again and again.

You can't pick fights with everyone who's isn't satisfied with the 32nd ranked passing game.

If we were 10th maybe you could.

Actually its not cherry picking given the fact that there is a direct connection to what I believe TTs issues are and what Brees' issue was. So it's not cherry picking and if you think sitting on the bench is the same as playing I have news for you it isn't. At least I know what I'm picking. A person can read A book in spanish(ALL 22) all they want but if they don't know Spanish (know what they are talking about) it doesn't do them any good. But I think you must know at least that I have a valid point or you would not have attacked. I'm dealing with apples not cherries because I compare apples to apples. Many of you will not even try to see what fruit the tree produces before you cut it down and I get it somewhat your sick of waiting.

http://www.sportingcharts.com/nfl/stats/team-rushing-play-percentage/2016/

Dallas and New England are in the top 5 along with Buffalo for rushing play percentage.

Try another excuse for Tyrod sucking balls. This one ain't cuttin' it.

OK

- Who is Dak Prescott throwing to

and

- Who is the QB for the Patriots

It amazes me every thing someone tries to slam TT and brings up Tom Brady....they will never be the same caliber QB....nobody has ever disputed that......

Fun fact, Dez and Woods are within 60 yards of each other on the season.

If you keep this up, John will run out of excuses. You'll be reported.

You brought up running play percentages. I provided stats. I'm sorry that they still prove that Tyrod sucks.

Who gives a fuk about your stats....my points are still valid

- Playmakers make plays (dallas)

- Tom Brady is a Hall of Famer (patriots)

So .... what you're saying is that if a team has a decent QB, then they can call a high percentage of running plays and still have a top 10 offense.

Thank you, John.

You just helped prove that Tyrod Taylor sucks.
