PastaJoe Posted February 8, 2017 Posted February 8, 2017 GOP votes to rebuke Elizabeth Warren for quoting Coretta Scott King in debate on Jeff Sessions for attorney general. So now even the words of Mrs. King are forbidden by Republicans. And people wonder why minorities fear the loss of civil rights protection under "so-called president" Trump.

Joe Miner Posted February 8, 2017 Posted February 8, 2017 Did she break the Senate rules? Like many other rules, those rules don't apply to native Americans.

You are as disingenuous as they come. Absent that, you can't read and/or comprehend.
B-Man Posted February 8, 2017 Posted February 8, 2017 The bright side is that I think she just got Jeff Sessions confirmed. Republicans vote to rebuke Elizabeth Warren, saying she impugned Sessions’s character Washington Post, by Paul Kane and Ed O´Keefe Original Article I do not agree with the "rebuke", they should have let her talk, and talk, and talk. All it does it point out the weakness of the Left's position.
Chef Jim Posted February 8, 2017 Posted February 8, 2017 Did she break the Senate rules? Well you have to agree that invoking rule 19 for that was pretty petty.
LeviF Posted February 8, 2017 Posted February 8, 2017 Well you have to agree that invoking rule 19 for that was pretty petty. Welcome to American Politics 101. Endless tit-for-tat until Rome collapses.
Nanker Posted February 8, 2017 Posted February 8, 2017 Well you have to agree that invoking rule 19 for that was pretty petty. You do know why it was originally instituted - right? Tillman Vs. McLaurin - fisticuffs on the Senate floor. No Senator can read a haranguing litany of abusive names at another Senator ON THE SENATE FLOOR
IDBillzFan Posted February 8, 2017 Posted February 8, 2017 Democrats, unable to stop the confirmations that require simple majorities, have countered by using extreme delay tactics that have dragged out the process longer than any in history for a new president’s Cabinet. So Democrats are obstructionists and the Party of No? My, how times have changed.
B-Man Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 Senate Confirms Jeff Sessions as Attorney General 52-47 with Manchin being the only Democrat to vote yes.
IDBillzFan Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 Senate Confirms Jeff Sessions as Attorney General 52-47 with Manchin being the only Democrat to vote yes. Based on current mood in the DNC, it would seem Manchin sleeps with the fishes tonight.
B-Man Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 Sessions wins....................hypocrites lose.
/dev/null Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 So Democrats are obstructionists and the Party of No? My, how times have changed. No no no, you've got it wrong. They're not obstructionists, they're The Resistance. Because obstructionists doesn't have the same soundbyte quality
B-Man Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 Sessions wins....................hypocrites lose. Coretta Scott King Thanks Sen. Jeff Sessions for Rosa Parks Library.
Nanker Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 She certainly was far more gracious than the harsh, shrill, Harpy-like haranguing diatribe put forth by Phauxahontas-self-appointed-princess-of-the-left-and shewolf-with-the-high-cheekbones. Coretta Scott King was an elegant lady. Liz Warren is a deranged, foolish person.
Pine Barrens Mafia Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 I think this picture sums the situation up nicely, so I'll leave it here:
Azalin Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 I think this picture sums the situation up nicely, so I'll leave it here: I don't get the symbolism, but I find this picture mesmerizing. So many questions, like "who/what are all the green people, and why is one done in the style of Picasso?
