"Overpowers".....................Associated Press style for ‘Republican majority’

You know why the AP is so bitter about the Trump administration? Because in the administration's first press conference, Spicer didn't call on them first.

No ****. !@#$ing preschoolers.

Glad people are speaking out about this and other disasters waiting to happen:

“The second much needed adjustment to Mr. Trump’s arrangement of the council is the removal of Mr. Bannon from the principals committee,” he added. “Putting aside for a moment Mr. Bannon’s troubling public positions, which are worrisome enough, institutionalizing his attendance threatens to politicize national security decision making.”

He described security council meetings as a venue for candid discussions that at times “can get heated” and “territorial” but rarely turn political.

“Having Mr. Bannon as a voting member of the principals committee will have a negative influence on what is supposed to be candid, nonpartisan deliberation,” Mullen warned. “I fear that it will have a chilling effect on deliberations and, potentially, diminish the authority and the prerogatives to which Senate-confirmed cabinet officials are entitled. They, unlike Mr. Bannon, are accountable for the advice they give and the policies they execute.”

Bannon’s presence on the NSC “results in a blurring of presidential responsibilities … that is unhealthy for the republic,” Mullen said.

Union-lackey Democrats fight to stop DeVos.

Senate Democrats have decided on a policy of resistance to everything President Trump does, but the scalp they want most is that of Betsy DeVos.
Her crime, from the left-wing point of view, is that she wants to press states to give students and their parents a say in how they’re taught at school.

DeVos doesn’t want to force school choice on anyone. She knows her job as secretary of education would not be to wield power, but to yield it to states and local school boards.

“As a strong proponent of local control, I believe a decision to provide vouchers, scholarships or other public support for students who choose to attend a nonpublic school should not be mandated by the federal government,” DeVos wrote to Sen. Deb Fischer, R-Neb., in a letter that apparently convinced Fischer to vote for DeVos, possibly securing the 50 votes she needs.

Yet, just for singing the virtues of choice (which in another context Democrats think is a fine thing) DeVos is the chief enemy of powerful teachers unions. Senate Democrats, other liberal groups, and late-night comedians have joined a crusade against her.

‎2‎/‎6‎/‎2017‎

Senate Democrats are planning a rare all-night talkathon to protest Betsy DeVos's nomination for Education secretary ahead of an expected vote on Tuesday."Democrats will hold the floor for the next 24 hours, until the final vote, to do everything we can to persuade just one more Republican to join us," Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.) said from the Senate floor Monday.

Virtually all Democrats poised to vote against remaining Trump Cabinet picks

The Washington Post ^ | February 6,2017 | Ed O'Keefe

Virtually all Democratic senators are expected to vote against President Trump’s picks to lead the departments of Education, Justice, Health and Human Services, Labor and Treasury and his top budget nominee — a historic rebuke of a first-term president’s top Cabinet nominees.

No need to find out if the candidates are qualified, if Trump nominated them they must be bad.

The democrats expose themselves to all................again

WAPO barely mentions that it won't make any difference.

I think sports are an important part of education. Heck, I think the lessons learned in team sports especially are amazing life lessons.
