RONNY JACKSON withdraws from VA Nomination.

Weird how everyone from both parties loved him and praised him until Trump nominated him.

.

.@RichardGrenell confirmed as the next U.S. Ambassador to Germany.

Sources familiar told me days ago they expect him to be in all of @POTUS meetings tomorrow with Angela Merkel.

THE SMEARING OF RONNY JACKSON

Ronny Jackson, the president’s physician, seemed like a questionable choice to head the Veterans Administration. The VA is a vast and apparently poorly run bureaucracy. And unlike other vast, poorly run bureaucracies, it’s entrusted with the vital task of delivering medical care directly to our nation’s veterans.

Thus, the job of VA head cries out for an experienced administrator with a history of running, and taming, large bureaucracies. Jackson is undoubtedly a fine physician, as Presidents Obama and Trump both believe. However, he lacks the history of administrative success on a large scale that the president should be looking for.

But Jackson’s nomination did not fail for this reason. Instead, it failed because Democrats, most notably the deplorable Sen. Jon Tester, smeared him.

Tester unleashed a string of damning allegations against Jackson even though he acknowledged that he did not know them to be true. The picture Tester painted of Jackson is almost impossible to reconcile with the fact that two presidents entrusted their medical care to him.

If Jackson had a drinking problem and irresponsibly dispensed drugs, wouldn’t President Obama’s aides have brought this to the attention of their boss? And wouldn’t Obama have removed Jackson as his physician or, at a minimum, sternly counseled him?

Of course. Instead, Obama and his team praised and commended Jackson, even rallying to his defense when the doctor was attacked for having the audacity to say President Trump is in excellent health. Former Obama aides, including Susan Rice, David Axelrod, and Dan Pfeiffer, called Jackson “a saint” “a really great guy,” and “a phenomenal doctor.” And Trump clearly thinks the world of him.

When we examine the key allegations against Jackson, we find they are either meaningless or unsupported and unlikely to be true. The former category includes the claim that Jackson drank alcohol on overseas trips with the president. According to several White House officials, doctors are permitted to drink alcohol if they are not on duty and if there is more than one doctor traveling, as there always is on foreign trips.

Jackson says he never drank while on duty or on a domestic trip while he was the only doctor. There appears to be no evidence (or even allegation) to the contrary.

{snip}

If Republicans apply the “Tester standard” to future nominees of Democratic presidents, Dems will have only themselves to blame.

Jackson may be the greatest doctor in the world but that does not qualify him to be the administrator of such a large entity. Earlier in this thread I suggested Mitt Romney who has experience as a governor, Olympics "savoir" and kicked ass at several companies that he had a controlling interest in. He's a problem solver and much better suited for a job like VA chief than just another senator. Much like Trump focuses on an issue until what's necessary is done, Romney would too. It's the "get them on, get them over and get them in" method.

Former secretary of state Rex W. Tillerson thinks Chief of Staff John F. Kelly hit the nail on the head. “The officials said Kelly portrays himself to Trump administration aides as the lone bulwark against catastrophe, curbing the erratic urges of a president who has a questionable grasp on policy issues and the functions of government. He has referred to Trump as ‘an idiot’ multiple times to underscore his point, according to four officials who say they’ve witnessed the comments.”

 Part of me is  going to miss Trump when he is gone...

CNN reports:

Vice President Mike Pence’s physician privately raised alarms within the White House last fall that President Donald Trump’s doctor may have violated federal privacy protections for a key patient — Pence’s wife, Karen — and intimidated the vice president’s doctor during angry confrontations over the episode.

The previously unreported incident is the first sign that serious concerns about Ronny Jackson’s conduct had reached the highest levels of the White House as far back as September — months before White House aides furiously defended Jackson’s professionalism, insisted he had been thoroughly vetted and argued allegations of misconduct amounted to unsubstantiated rumors.

Exclusive: Bornstein claims Trump dictated the glowing health letter

Now, as Bornstein re-enters the spotlight claiming Trump's ex-bodyguard Keith Schiller robbed his office when Schiller retrieved Trump's medical records, the story behind the letter is becoming clearer.

https://www.cnn.com/2018/05/01/politics/harold-bornstein-trump-letter/index.html

Trump's former doctor Harold Bornstein said he felt "raped" when Trump White House officials "raided his office,"

The White House and a source familiar with the incident deny Bornstein's account.

What an !@#$. He released Trump's protected medical information, and is upset that Trump had his file removed?

The fact that the doctor does not believe that telling the media about medications being prescribed to a patient does not breach HIPAA (or completely violates the trust between a doctor and a patient) shows a serious lack of understanding of his responsibilities to his patients.

Yet this quack is trying to proclaim he's the victim. Laughable.

So that makes releasing private medical information ok?

Should your doctor release your list of prescriptions as well, because it's just for genital warts?

Donald Trump Releases Medical Report Calling His Health ‘Extraordinary’    Dec.14, 2015

Donald J. Trump has released a letter from his personal physician attesting that his health is “extraordinary.”

The letter, gushing in tone and signed by Dr. Harold N. Bornstein of Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan, was four paragraphs long and provided few specific laboratory test results. The letter made a  sweeping declaration in a tone oddly similar to how Mr. Trump talks about himself

What does this have to do with what is really going on in the world right now? People keep trying to bog down Trump with horseshit and ignore other issues in order to promote this petty crap. We need to unburden him and let him do his job without constantly peppering him with the minutia thrown out to slow him down and confuse the issues. Don't be gator light.

Well, he's already done a lot of good but you are concentrating on stupid, pettyshit instead, so your proclamations re giving him credit hold no water.

Why shouldn't he get the same level of scrutiny as Obama got?

Is he a special needs president? If he is a criminal, or corrupt, or incompetent or really, all of the above he deserves to be put under the microscope.

Ok, Obama's own Justice Department didn't appoint an independent council to investigate crimes. Trump's did, so ya, I guess in some ways you are right. And that's funny
